• 価格は製品発表・または動画投稿時。有効GPUコア数の違いなどスペックに書いていない仕様による価格差もある。

• あくまで、メモリ効率の差が最も出やすい実用ベンチマークとして Lightroom Classic (50x 42MP RAW Export) を選んでいる。3Dレンダリングなど、dGPUを搭載したWindows機の方が優れるベンチマークもあるので、参照元の動画を見比べるなどしてほしい。

もっとも、先述の通り「Mac同士で8GBと16GBを比べたら当然16GBの方が余力があるので、Proを名乗る機種は16GB備えるべきだ」という意見は至極真っ当だとも思う。すなわち、上記のようなベンチマーク環境から、たとえばChromeのタブを追加で開いていったらどうなるかというと、MacだろうがWindowsだろうが8GB機ならすぐに悪影響が出てきてしまう。Macの8GBメモリの「処理効率」は確かに16GB相当かもしれないが、「同時に扱えるデータ量」は別物だということに注意してもらいたい。Macは後者についても効率的なのかもしれないが、それをWindowsとの比較で検証できる動画は見つけられなかった。

追記:

赤字で示したM3シリーズのうち、M3の2機種を比べてみてほしい。この2機種の違いは8GBと16GBの差、$200だけだ。それで1:47から1:03まで改善するのだから、$200の価値は高いと思う。またこの数字は、同時にChromeのタブを開いていく検証(参照元3)では、ますます差が開くことになる。16GBのほうは、20タブを開いてもびくともしない。

なお、これはまさに冒頭で触れた「Macの8GBと16GBを比べたら、16GBの方が速いぞ」という検証である。Windowsとの比較を終えて、結局行き着くところはここなのだった。

ウメちゃん強かった

梅原大吾(海外ではその獣のような悪魔のようなプレイスタイルからDAIGO The Beastと呼ばれる)といえば日本のプロゲーマーの第一人者として有名であり、書籍『１日ひとつだけ、強くなる。』もベストセラーとなっており、日本においてはe-sportsといえばウメハラ、みたいなところがある。

その彼も最近は加齢による衰えかあまり活躍できていなかった。あまり活躍できていなかったといっても普通に他のプロゲーマーと勝ったり負けたりといい勝負をしている程度ではあったのだが、他のプロゲーマーが配信で言っていた「勝率60%もいけば勝ちすぎといわれるトッププレイヤー同士の対戦なのに、ウメさんだけはトーナメントで優勝以外許されないのハードル高すぎるでしょそらきついよ」という評の通り、我々一般人の動画勢からの期待が高すぎるところがあった。それは過去のウメちゃんが今より遙かにプレイヤーが多数いた時代に一発勝負のトーナメントで奇跡の勝利を何度も続けていたり、ストリートファイターシリーズのような単一のゲームだけではなくギルティなどの複数のゲームでトップ層に到達してきており、その時のイメージが動画などで残っているからであった。動画に興味がある方は『evo moment 2004』や『背水の逆転劇』などでお調べください。

一方、最近のウメちゃんは自分の主戦場としているストリートファイターV(そう、昔流行ったスト2の続編であるスト5で今はe-sportsしてます)ではなく、他のゲームの有名人を有名にする配信や、すでに有名な売れているゲーム(アンダーテイル、雪山人狼、東方etc)の配信で格闘ゲームのプロプレイヤーというよりはストリーマーとしての活動が多く一部のファンからは失望されてしまい、ウメハラ総合スレという名前で30000以上続いている格闘ゲームの話題を扱うスレからタイトルを剥奪されて、単なる数字だけカウントするスレッドになってしまっていた。これは格闘ゲーム業界ではかなり大きなトピックで、ウメちゃんの存在感が格闘ゲーム業界で圧倒的一番ではなくなってしまったということを意味していた。

最初に全国大会優勝(ヴァンパイアセイヴァー)したのが1997年で、2020年のいまだにトッププレイヤーなのは誰しも認める(というか賞金獲得期間がもっとも長いプロプレイヤーとしてギネスに認定されている)ところではあるが、もうレッドブルスポンサー(一生生活が保障されるとのこと)で人生上がりだしなんとなくダラダラやってるだけじゃない？という認識が強まっているところがあった。

特に最近はときどさん(東大卒プロゲーマー、同名の書籍を上梓済)のトーナメントの勝率が異常かつウメちゃんとの直接対決でも圧倒することが多く、直近のトパンガリーグという長期戦をフィーチャーした大会では7-0でウメちゃんを完封していたり、ゴールデンタイムのバラエティーである笑ってこらえてに出演するなど存在感が非常に増していたので、私もウメちゃんからときどさんへのゆるやかな世代交代の時期が来たんだなと思っていた。そしてときどさんはとにかく格闘ゲーム以外に対しても真面目でストイックなところも、格闘ゲーム以外はちゃらんぽらん気味(ダイエットはあきらめる、やたら酒を飲む、髭が不衛生etc)なウメちゃんと対比されて世代交代もやむなしかというところもあった。

そしてここにきて毎年一年のツアーの総合ポイント上位者が出られる(ゴルフみたいなイメージ)カプコンカップがコロナのため、ツアーがなくなり、全世界各地域で居住者のみでオンライントーナメントをしてその優勝者のみがでられる形式に変更されてしまった。サッカーのワールドカップみたいに実力で言うとヨーロッパや南米の方がもっと強い国はあるけど枠の関係である程度世界まんべんなく出る感じに変更されたのである。しかも過去の強さの優先枠とかそういう考慮は一切無かったため、日本勢は最大2名しか出られなくなってしまった。格闘ゲームは基本的に日本勢が圧倒的に層が厚く、毎年カプコンカップのプロツアーが終わると最終的に出場者32名の半分以上は日本人選手となる。それが今年のルールでは最大2名である。東アジア大会のため、韓国や台湾の強いプレイヤーが勝った場合はそこからさらに減ってしまう。

(キャラ相性が極端でなければ)トップ層の対戦は勝率50-55%程度に落ち着くため、はっきり言ってトップ層の短期戦トーナメントはじゃんけんとかわらないということも言われたりする。ウメちゃんは去年もぱっとしなかった(カプコンプロツアーが始まって以降、初めて一年通してプロツアーで優勝が一回もなかった)ので、今年のカプコンカップは全体的にレベルが低くなりそうだしウメちゃんは流石にみれないかなうーん残念と思っていたら、昨日は危なげなくtop8にのこり、今日はときどさんをまず倒し、韓国の攻めが強いVelorenを圧倒し、グラビアアイドルの倉持由香の旦那でありウメちゃんと同じストリームチームのチームメイトであるふ～どを倒し優勝ですよ。優勝ももちろん嬉しかったんだけど、画面をメチャクチャみている反応が良すぎるスーパープレイ連打からのウメちゃん優勝です。

テキサス大学の学生グループは、古代ギリシャの「ぺデラスティ」（成人男性と10代の少年たちの社会的に認められた恋愛関係）について広範囲に渡って書いた古典教授の解雇を求めています。

学生は、Thomas Hubbardの学術研究は「10代の少年に対する暴力犯罪の擁護者」であり、小児性愛を促進するオンラインコミュニティで称賛されていると主張しています。

衝突について最初に報告したThe Austin American-Statemanによってレビューされた文章の中で、UTの教養学部の古典学教授は、古代社会の男性と少年の肉体関係を「適切な学習経験」と呼びます。

それとは別に、2010年に、Hubbardは、古代の若い男の子の性的同意を分析する記事を書いたと伝えられており、現在の同意年齢法は禁止に匹敵する「素朴で独善的な時代」の「悲しい副産物」と呼んでいます。

Hubbardは査読雑誌「Thymos: Boyhood Studies」に「現代アメリカ法は、後期ビクトリア朝時代と進歩主義時代の思想的先入観と時代遅れのジェンダー構造に由来する『性的関係に対する子どもの無能力』に基づいている」と書いたと報道された。

Students for Safetyと呼ばれるグループは先月、Hubbardが「未成年の少年を捕食することを望んでいる人たちのコミュニティを促進するために彼の立場を利用し」彼の著作が「これらの違法行為を奨励している」と主張するプレスリリースを発行しました

「10代の少年に対する暴力犯罪を擁護する者には、明日の指導者に教える権利はない」とこの発表は述べています。

「テキサス大学は、学生の安全、健康、福祉を念頭に置いていないことは明らかです。」

「私たちは、この男性が小児性愛を促進するために彼の地位を使用している間、我慢することを拒否します」とグループは言いました。

Hubbardに対する告発を率いる学生の1人であるSarah Blakemoreは、The Austin American-Statemanに、教授の「アカデミックライセンス」は「法律違反」を促進するため、公立大学では容認されるべきではないと語った。

Hubbardの研究は、North American Man/Boy Love Association (NAMBLA) を含む男性と少年の関係を促進するオンラインコミュニティで好意的に受け取られていることを引用して、Blakemoreはこう付け加えました。

Hubbardは、The Daily Beastのコメントのリクエストにすぐに応答しませんでした。

The Austin American-Statemanへの声明の中で、古典教授は「少数の学生」の懸念を却下し、「この主題に関する私の執筆の全範囲の慎重な調査に基づくものではない」と述べた。

彼の作品は、NAMBLAの「法改正への特異なアプローチ」を実施せず、メンバーの性的指向を共有していません。

Students for SafetyのプレスリリースがソーシャルメディアでUTの学生に配布された後、Hubbardは書面によるQ＆Aで自分の研究を擁護し、ぺデラスティは小児性愛とは異なると主張し、「同意年齢がより低年齢の国で精神的健康への悪影響の証拠はない」と示唆しました」

Hubbardは「私は主に古代ギリシャ、「小児性愛」（精神医学の診断および統計マニュアル第5版で定義）が文化記録の一部ではない、について書いています」とハバードは言いました。

「古代ギリシャ、漢王朝中国、ルネッサンスフローレンス、サムライ時代の日本、同様にメラネシア、アジア、アフリカの部族文化などの複雑な歴史文化で実践された、思春期の男性の恋愛的交際「ぺデラスティ」の非常に異なる現象について議論します」

さらに、「10代のセクシュアリティをどのように規制し、法律違反を処罰すべきかは、研究者と公共政策の専門家の間での正当な研究と議論の分野です。

そのような議論には、歴史的および異文化間の証拠がある」と加えました。
