■桜月が転機

2023年を振り返ると桜月の出来が良かったことが一年の弾みになったんだろうな、あれで運営も行けると思ったんだろうな、と納得できる。

表題曲はスルメで聴くほどに泣けるし、アニラでも良い位置で歌われてた。

Coolはmvの完成度が高くてキャラの派生ビジネスにまで結びついた。

無念ももしかしたら真実も出色のクオリティで、3rd ツアーの充実に貢献した。

夏の近道は言わずもがな、3期躍進のスプリングボードになった。

Liarはまあ笑。

これで他坂との差別化、というか棲み分けを固めて、欅回帰と言われかねない路線にもズイズイと進んでいけたのだと思うと、やはりナスカ神。

あとリリース時のミニライブ見返すと桜月のラストがれなぁが一人上手に歩き去る振り付けになってて、これが更に哀愁を醸し出して良かった。

当時の録音ではドラムセットやアンプなどは発展途上の段階で、ドラムはスネアやウッドブロック中心のマーチングっぽい感じ、ギターのかわりにバンジョー、ベースはチューバなどが使われることが多い。

当時の録音技術はぜんぜん良くないので、古い録音をリマスタリングした音源を聞いても聞きづらいしノイズもひどい。1950年ごろまではおしなべてこうで、それ以降に録音された音源のほうが聞きやすいと思う。

個人的にはSean MoysesのTiger Rag!というアルバムが好きではあるが、ディキシーランド・ジャズといよりもジャズバンジョソローアルバムという色が強い。

1935年 前後 ビッグバンド、スウィング・ジャズ

オーケストラっぽい大編成によるジャズである。クラシックのオーケストラとは違い、弦楽器セクションがいることはまずない。ドラム・ベース・ピアノ・ギターのリズムセクションと、トロンボーン・トランペット・サックス+クラリネットという編成が典型。

リズムのキメやソリやトゥッティのかっちりとしたアレンジ、分厚いバッキングを背負いながらのソロ回し、大人数による静と動のコントラストなどが特徴である。

個人的にはFletcher Henderson - Swing The Thingsというアルバムが好きではあるが、これもまたとにかく録音が悪い。

バディ・リッチや、BBC Big Bandによる後年の録音や、より現代的なビッグバンドであるGordon Goodwin's Big Phat Bandなどのほうが聞きやすいと思う。

1940年 前後〜1970年 前後 ビバップ、モダンジャズ、フリージャズなど

スーツを着たジャズメンが4〜5人程度でバーやナイトクラブで演奏してしそうなジャズをイメージしてほしい。だいたいそれがモダンジャズである。モダンと銘打ってはいるが、70年ぐらい昔の音楽のスタイルである。

ビバップ、ハードバップ、モード・ジャズなど演奏理論の違いによって通常さらに細かく分けられるが、全体的な構造や編成として大きな差はあまりない。

イントロ→テーマ→アドリブソロ回し→(バース)→テーマ→アウトロという構成で進むのは変わらないまま、どのように斬新なソロをとるか？という音楽理論が30年かけて煮詰まっていった思っておけばよい。

チャーリー・パーカーはビバップの代表的奏者であるが、当時の録音も良くはなくソロも音感が強くないとぜんぶ同じに聞こえてしまうと思う。1950年代後半あたりに聞きやすいアルバムが多くある。

具体的にはMiles Davis - Bag's Groove,Sonny Rollins - Saxophone Colossus, Sonny Clark - Cool Struttin'、Art Blaky - Moanin'など。この4つは一般的にも名盤とされているし個人的にも大好きである。

1965年前後あたりのマイルス・デイヴィスやジョン・コルトレーンのアルバムはだいぶ煮詰まっていてよりエクストリームになっていて、これはこれでまた独特の趣がある。

独特の趣でいうと、ジプシージャズ、マヌーシュスウィングというスタイルもある。

また、フリージャズという既存の音楽理論的制約を無視した……平たく言えばめちゃくちゃやってるだけじゃねーのか？という演奏スタイルも勃発した。

ノイズに近い激しいロックなどが好きな人はこれを好みがちという印象がある。

1970年以降〜現代のジャズ

モダンジャズでジャズという音楽は完成してしまい、以降は主流のスタイルとして盛り上がっている新しい形のジャズは特に思い当たらない。

1970年以降はおもに別ジャンルの音楽(ロック、ファンク、電子音楽、民族音楽、ヒップホップなど)の要素をどのように混ぜ込むか？という発展の仕方をするようになった。もちろん伝統回帰する派閥もある。

ジャズという大木の成長は1970年で打ち止めになり、いろんな枝が沢山伸びていて全方位のジャズを把握している人間は極めてまれというイメージである。

ジャズ・ファンクの名盤にはHerbie Hancock - Head Huntersがあり、個人的にも好きである。

フュージョンでは、伝説的な天才ベーシストであるジャコ・パストリアスが在籍していたことで有名なウェザー・リポートというグループが有名である。

日本でもフュージョンブームがあり、1979年デビューのカシオペアは今も現役で活動する大御所フュージョンバンドである。

民族音楽・変拍子を取り入れたジャズにはAvishai Cohen -Continuo などがある。アヴィシャイ・コーエンは同姓同名のベーシストとトランペッターがいるが、これはベーシストのアルバムである。

ただしジャズといわれた場合はアドリブソロが組み込まれることが通常のため、これはジャズかと言われると微妙ではある。

「Cool down time(冷却時間)」から転じてゲームなどでスキルが再使用可能になるまでの時間を指すんだが

英語圏で「Cool down time」を略す場合は絶対「time」を消して「Cool down」である

意味の上でも「Cool down」+「time」なわけだし、Cool down:5secとか書くと時間であることは明白なので

ところが日本人は重要な意味を持つ単語を消して「クールタイム」なる珍妙な語を生み出した

元の英語に正解が先に存在するのにわざわざ謎の独自性を発揮して意味不明な略語を使う意味がわからない

なんでそんなことするの？頭おかしいの？

10代の感性なんてものは許容度が限りなくなくてキツキツでカクカクしている前衛芸術のような形をしている。

そしてその感性から1ミリでも飛び出しているものは、認めることが出来ない。

中学生なんかが、その学校の中でしか通用しないヘンテコリンなファッションをCOOLなものとして捉えて流行させるのもそのヘンテコな感性のせいだ。

鍵穴と鍵みたいな関係とも言える。

きちんとした鍵を差し込めば簡単に開いてしまう扉なんだけど、如何せんその形が大人にはわからない。

だから若い人にしか若い人が本当に欲しているもの生み出すことが出来ない。

どっちが先かは知らんけど「ダウンタイム」にはすでに別の意味合いがあるわけで、

じゃあ「クールタイム」でいいんじゃないのか。

まぜっかえすようだが、「かわいい」については、

女の言葉は下に見る意味じゃないのに、男が下に見る意味を取ってしまう、のではなくて

下に見る意味もあるけどなおそれを女が良しと思ってしまう、という面があると思うんだよな。

有名な話で、英語圏では女性に対する誉め言葉にcuteは使わない。それは子供扱いだからだ。

sexyだとかcoolだとかいうんだ。女性の誉め言葉にも。

では、日本の「かわいい」には子供扱いのニュアンスがない？　そんなことはない。

そうではなくて子供扱いされても良いと感じる文化がある。下に見られること、庇護される立場であるを女性が望んでいる。

そういう日本文化批判は実際にされてきたんだわ。

女子高生がかわいいで全部の誉め言葉を済ませてきた90～00年代から定番だよ。

■ New JeansのCool With YouのMVみたアロマン ティックの人間の明後日の方に走り出すタイプの感想

New JeansのCool With YouのMV見たよ〜

チョンホヨンにトニーレオンも出てなんてリッチなMV……（トニーレオンはノーギャラで出演してくれているらしいけど）

恋愛について歌う曲の場合、アイドルと異性の俳優での絡みがMV中に発生してやや界隈が燃えるの何千回とみてきたけどニュジはそこは完全に俳優陣に任せてニュジメンバーはそれを見守る天使たち、という構成流石だなと思ったメンバー未成年だし…ね！

MV、プシュケとエロスが土台になっているストーリーらしい Twitterでだれかが言ってたへえー

人と人をくっつける仕事をしている人ならざるもの（チョンホヨン、トニーレオン）、男と女ばっかくっつけるのやや気になるんだけど… 男と男、女と女もくっつけてくれよていうかこの二元論の話もやめよう

なんかPartAみてて涙出てきちゃったんだけど、キューピッドさえ人に堕ちてもいいと思えるような相手に一目惚れして恋をするというのに、アロマンティックであるところの私はこんな楽しそうなことが一生わかんないままなのかもしれないと思うと悔しすぎるていうかキューピッドのほうも仕事しろよ私にも誰か目配せで恋に落ちれるようにしてくれよ仕事をサボるな
