安倍首相も似たような思想を持っていると当然海外では思われているし、政府の抗議を受け修正したものの今年の３月に、NY Timesが

それに対して安倍総理は「筆舌に尽くしがたい思いをされた慰安婦の方々のことを思うと本当に胸が痛む思い」だとし、

これはちょっと意外な発言で、日韓のメディア、右派左派ともにちょっと戸惑った感じがしたように思える。
安部首相の真意がどういうものなのか、これからの行動を見ないと分からないが、
これは、慰安婦に対する人権侵害を認めつつ、「慰安婦制度をやっていたのは日本だけでなかった」という文脈を作ろうとしているのかなと思えた。
それはオバマの発言に対して、「米軍慰安婦はどうなんだ」「朴正煕の韓国軍慰安婦管理はどうなんだ」という反応が多く見られたものを反映していると思う。
「20世紀」という一般化といい、正直なかなかうまい手というか、慰安婦問題に対して右左をなだめる、これまでにないスタンスになるかもと思った。
そうなってくると、戦後の韓国の慰安婦制度が本当にあったのかという話になってくる。あったなら、慰安婦像を海外に建てるキャンペーンが別の意味を持ってくる。
別に「あいつらもやってから、俺らは悪くない」という意図ではなく、
実際問題として、日本が謝罪もし、アジア女性基金も設立した一方で、韓国自身が実は同じ問題を抱えていたのに黙殺するという事態は、事実を明らかにする上でも好ましくないと思う。
まとめサイトではソースがあいまいなものも含めてよく目にするが、いくら内輪で盛り上がっても意味は皆無で
海外でどのようにどのように研究されているか、というのが重要になると思う。
残念ながら、メディアという点では海外では概して「20万人の韓国人が日本に性奴隷にされた」「日本はその歴史を否定しようとしている」という文脈で報じられているのがほとんどだ。
しかし、アカデミズムの分野では、ここ最近韓国自身の慰安婦制度に目を向けられているものも増えているように見受けられる。
おおよそ中立的な立場であると見受けられるC.Sarah Sohという研究者の2009年に出版された"The Comfort Women"という本は海外でも評判が高いようなので、色々調べようと思った。

検索すると、Google Readersで一部内容が見ることができ、その部分にちょうど韓国の慰安婦制度について記述しているところがあったので、メモ代わりに引用しておく。
もちろん、この本は、日本の慰安婦制度、および人権侵害にも厳しい目を向けているが、
この部分の結論としては、韓国は慰安婦生存者を日本の抵抗のシンボルとして英雄扱いする一方で、韓国自身の慰安婦制度含む性の人権侵害には目を向けてこなかったということを言っている。
「韓国が戦後慰安婦制度を使用してきた」という事実は、単なるネット右翼のデマではなく、海外の研究者にも裏付けられている事実であり、もっと注目されるべきではないかなと思う。

After its liberation from Japanese rule in August 1945,the Korean Peninsula was divided into two: Soviet troops occupied the northern half and the US military the southern half. The ongoing US military presence in South Korea led to the formation and maintenance of “Camp towns” (kijich’on, in Korean) around the military bases, a development that has had a striking social impact on Korean communities. Kijich’on (literally, base or camp [kiji] village [ch’on]) refers to the civilian world of commercial establishments and residential buildings that have sprung up around the US military bases and cater to the needs of the American GI’s. It is “ a place where Koreans and Americans- mostly male military personnel- meet in an economic and emotional marriage of convenience”. As of the end of 1996, 37,000 American troops supported the economies of ninety-six kijich’on. The estimated number of kijich’on prostitutes over the first four decades of the American presence ranges between 250,000 and 300,000.

The kijich'on sex trade consolidated and expanded during the second phase, which began with the Korean War. In her testimony, Pak Sun-i who had laboured at three different comfort startions in Japan 1944 to the end of the war, recalled:

Only piecemeal anecdotal materials on it had come to light from memoirs written by retired generals and generals and the testimony of soldiers who fought in the war.

週末にまとめて1時間で下ごしらえをして、平日は10分でいっちょまえの食事ができる！という触れ込みの「ウィークックナビ」が話題になっているが、これを一週間試しにやってみたので感想を書いてみる。
誰かの参考になれば幸い。
これが一番気になるところだと思うが、駅徒歩何分と同じで、まず時間通りには終わらない。平日の調理と週末の準備の両方やってみたが、おおむね2.5〜3倍の時間がかかった。調理はだいたい30分、準備は2時間半〜3時間だ。あれを時間通りに終わらせられるのは、準備にかかる時間を除外した上で、やるべきことを把握した人間が最高のパフォーマンスを発揮した場合だ。
実際さっき準備を終えたところなんだが、23時から始めて2時前に終わった。自分は夜更かししてよく2時3時まで起きてる人間だからいいが、普段は12時に寝る規則正しい諸君、作業1時間の見込みで始めると終わらないぞ。3時間みたほうがいい。晩ご飯おわってからすぐに始めよう。
揚げ物があってハードルが高い、という指摘はブクマでもされていた。その通りだと思う。その通りやってたら準備・後片付けだけで10分かかる。（本当はツインバードのフライヤーがあるのだが、やはり油の扱いが面倒であまり使ってない）
なので、うちでは油やや大目で揚げ焼きみたいなやり方でごまかした。それで十分おいしかった。「忙しい人向け」を標榜しているくらいなので、この点はこれから改善されるといいな。
（１）食卓が豪華になること。
今まで会社あがってダッシュで子供迎えに行って家帰ってメシ作って7:00〜7:30に一汁一菜の夕餉、だったのが同じ時間で一汁三菜+作り置きになった。これは嬉しい。調理にだいたい〜30分かかるのだが、うちの炊飯器で早炊きモードでごはんを炊くのに26分かかるので、時間がかかるといってもちょうどいいのだ。
（２）レシピを考えずに済むこと。
家にある食材（と賞味期限）からレシピを計算する必要がなくなった。月曜から金曜まで決まったものを決まった通りやるだけ。頭を使わないので実に楽。あと、レシピが決まって材料があると、夫婦のどっちでも同じように調理ができるのもよい。どっちかが遅くなった日でも、残りの一方が準備されたものを仕上げられる。フェイルオーバーだ。すばらしい。
これはまだ試していないが、うちは生協を頼んでいて木曜にその注文をしている。そしてウィークックナビのレシピは木曜更新だ。材料を生協で頼んでしまえば買い込む際に重たい荷物を家まで運ぶ必要がなくなる。すばらしい。ただし生協は頼んだものがその次の周に来るシステムになっている。なので、掲載されているレシピとは1週間ずれてしまうことにはなる。
先週の火曜は、菜花と豆腐の和え物と豆腐油揚のみそ汁、その翌日は麻婆豆腐だった。この豆腐ラッシュはアホじゃなかろうかと嫁が言っていた。自分もそう思う。
4人分のカレーを冷凍できる容器もスペースもうちの冷蔵庫にはない。
自分のように説明をよく読まずにやるタイプの人間は、たぶんレシピに唐突に現れる「stillたれ」に困惑すると思う。これは「醤油+みりん+酒+砂糖」のことだ。レシピを考案した人のハンドルがstillで、その人オリジナルのたれなのでstillたれなのだそうだ。作ることもできるが普通に元のを入れてもいいと思う。うちはstillたれ大2＝（醤油・みりん・酒）各大1+砂糖少々に変換している。
一人暮らし向けのレシピがほしいというブクマがちらほら見られたが、簡単だ。レシピが4人前なので分量を1/2にして作れば良い。晩めしで1食、次の日の朝食orお弁当で1食でちょうどいいぞ。新生活にピッタリだ。

前々から日本に対する知識を持つ記者が減ってるって話はあるけど、このレベルじゃ本当やばい。一定程度の知識があれば、確かめずに軽率に書かないでしょ。
「安倍はやばい右翼で、あらゆる歴史を否定してる奴だ！」って思い込んでないと、この文は書けない。
こういうのを日本の「知識人」たちが抗議せずに安倍への攻撃材料として使えるとばかりにはしゃいでるのを見てると力が抜ける。
アンネの日記事件でも、「安倍・日本の右翼化」と結びつける視点で書いてるし、
右よりでもなく、日本で割りと普通に流通してるような中立的でまともな意見を英語で発信するジャーナリストがいないとまずいよ。
俺も安倍周辺の右翼たちは危ないと思うけど、明らかに海外に伝えられてる事項は驚くほどバイアスがかかってる。やばすぎ。

My impression before i coming shanghai has never changed....in fact, some people is noisy, no manner, and there are garbage on streets. but my image that chinese people is honest and they are good at merchandise is also true actually.
The changed point is ....fact that chinese elite is not so smart. I mean they are good at studying and getting a good score on the paper test but they dont have mind of creation. Deeply thinking, there are nothing good product originated in china...many are made in america or japan. Basement of economic of china is rehash...? and that have not still changed? that culture make chinese elite boring? anyway, i can meet earnest guy easily, but it is difficult to find guy beyond my mind. their opinion tend to be like newspapers, just there is little different from which newspaper they choose as their opinion.
more or less, i have some prejudice. what do u think about it?

Less than a week ago, we reported on work being done by MIT's Laboratory for Electromagnetic and Electronic Systems (LEES) that could become the first technologically significant and economically viable alternative to conventional batteries in 200 years. Now a second new and highly promising battery technology is emerging from MIT - a new type of lithium battery that could become a cheaper alternative to the batteries that now power hybrid electric cars.
Until now, lithium batteries have not had the rapid charging capability or safety level needed for use in cars. Hybrid cars now run on nickel metal hydride batteries, which power an electric motor and can rapidly recharge while the car is decelerating or standing still.
But lithium nickel manganese oxide, described in a paper to be published in Science on Feb. 17, could revolutionize the hybrid car industry -- a sector that has "enormous growth potential," says Gerbrand Ceder, MIT professor of materials science and engineering, who led the project.
"The writing is on the wall. It's clearly happening," said Ceder, who said that a couple of companies are already interested in licensing the new lithium battery technology.
The new material is more stable (and thus safer) than lithium cobalt oxide batteries, which are used to power small electronic devices like cell phones, laptop computers, rechargeable personal digital assistants (PDAs) and such medical devices as pacemakers.
The small safety risk posed by lithium cobalt oxide is manageable in small devices but makes the material not viable for the larger batteries needed to run hybrid cars, Ceder said. Cobalt is also fairly expensive, he said.
The MIT team's new lithium battery contains manganese and nickel, which are cheaper than cobalt.
Scientists already knew that lithium nickel manganese oxide could store a lot of energy, but the material took too long to charge to be commercially useful. The MIT researchers set out to modify the material's structure to make it capable of charging and discharging more quickly.
Lithium nickel manganese oxide consists of layers of metal (nickel and manganese) separated from lithium layers by oxygen. The major problem with the compound was that the crystalline structure was too "disordered," meaning that the nickel and lithium were drawn to each other, interfering with the flow of lithium ions and slowing down the charging rate.
Lithium ions carry the battery's charge, so to maximize the speed at which the battery can charge and discharge, the researchers designed and synthesized a material with a very ordered crystalline structure, allowing lithium ions to freely flow between the metal layers.
A battery made from the new material can charge or discharge in about 10 minutes -- about 10 times faster than the unmodified lithium nickel manganese oxide. That brings it much closer to the timeframe needed for hybrid car batteries, Ceder said.
Before the material can be used commercially, the manufacturing process needs to be made less expensive, and a few other modifications will likely be necessary, Ceder said.
Other potential applications for the new lithium battery include power tools, electric bikes, and power backup for renewable energy sources.
The lead author on the research paper is Kisuk Kang, a graduate student in Ceder's lab. Ying Shirley Meng, a postdoctoral associate in materials science and engineering at MIT, and Julien Breger and Clare P. Grey of the State University of New York at Stony Brook are also authors on the paper.
