ヤクルト本社（２２６７）が大幅反発した。１１時０２分現在、前日比２２０円（４．１４％）高の５５３０円と東証１部の値上がり率上位２０位以内に食い込んだ。
９日に国立精神・神経医療研究センター神経研究所との共同研究で、腸内の善玉菌が少ないとうつ病リスクが高くなることを世界で初めて明らかにしたと発表し、好感された。そのうえで、乳酸菌飲料やヨーグルトなどのプロバイオティクスの摂取がうつ病の予防や治療に有効な可能性があるとしている。
４３人のうつ病性障害患者と５７人の健常者の腸内細菌について、善玉菌のビフィズス菌と乳酸かん菌の菌数を比較したところ、うつ病患者がビフィズス菌、乳酸かん菌がともに一定以下であることが判明したという。

脳腸相関が科学的に説明できるようになってきています
○ 脳腸相関とは？
機能性消化管疾患の患者さんを診療していて気づくのですが、おなかの症状だけでなく、眠れない、落ち着かない、頭痛、食欲がない、意欲がない、などの精神神経症状を訴えられる患者さんがたくさんおられます。
腸のせいで脳に影響しているのか、脳のせいで腸に影響しているのか難しい悪循環になっているように思えます。「脳腸相関」として医学的には以前からよく知られた現象として有名です。
これまで、便が軟らかくなりやすい下痢型の過敏性腸症候群の患者さんに対しては、「ストレスが原因ですから、生活などのライフスタイルを見直すことが重要です」といった説明をすることが治療の出発だったわけです。ところが、最近の研究によりこのような脳腸相関をある程度科学的に説明することが出来るようになってきました。
過敏性腸症候群の病態においては、腸内フローラの異常、短鎖脂肪酸などの腸内環境の異常により、腸から脳への信号伝達に異常が生じているようです。
消化管内腔の粘膜細胞に刺激が加わると、この信号は迷走神経下神経節を介して延髄孤束核へ、また、脊髄後根神経節を介して視床、皮質へ伝えられると考えられています。これが内臓知覚といわれるものです。この内臓知覚には消化管壁内に存在している内在性知覚ニューロンからの信号も関係していると考えられています。
特に、この内在性知覚ニューロンの情報伝達にはセロトニン３受容体（5-HT3受容体）が関与していると考えられており、過敏性腸症候群の下痢型の治療薬として5-HT3受容体の拮抗薬が著効することが証明され、臨床応用されています。腸内細菌のなかで神経伝達物資であるγアミノ酸（ＧＡＢＡ）を産生する菌があることも確認されています。
この菌が少ない子どもは、行動異常、自閉症などになりやすいとされています。自閉症の子どもに対して腸内環境の改善による治療が試みられています。
ストレスの実験モデルとしてラットの脳室内にＣＲＦを注入するモデルがあります。ストレス下で脳から腸へのシグナルの最初は視床下部の室傍核から分泌される副腎皮質刺激ホルモン放出因子（ＣＲＦ）です。このＣＲＦは、下垂体前葉の副腎皮質刺激ホルモン（ＡＣＴＨ）分泌を刺激し、ＡＣＴＨは副腎皮質からの糖質コルチコイド分泌を刺激し、ストレスに対して適応する様々な生体反応を起こします。いわゆる視床下部-下垂体-副腎軸（ＨＰＡ軸）といわれるストレス応答です。さらにＣＲＦは下部消化管（結腸）の運動亢進を起すとされ下痢型過敏性腸症候群のモデルとして使用されています。
こういったＣＲＦ投与によるストレス負荷を受けた腸管では、平滑筋刺激による運動亢進だけでなく、腸内の細菌叢にも変化が生じるようです。脳内のストレスが腸管に何らかのシグナルを送り、細菌叢に働きかけているようです。ラットの実験ですが、ＣＲＦを注入する前にラットに水溶性食物繊維を前もって投与しておくと、この腸管運動亢進が抑制されることも見いだしています。つまり、様々なストレスに対して腸管内からのアプローチが可能になってきているのです。
私たちが脳で幸せを感じるもとになる「幸せ物質」のひとつがセロトニンなのです。このセロトニンが脳内で正常に作用すると、ヒトは前向きな気持ちを保ち、幸せを実感し、健康ですごせるとされています。
セロトニンが不足すると、怒りやすく、時間が経過してもそれを抑えられなくなり、キレやすくなるようです。
実は、このセロトニンは腸管で作られているのです。さらに、このセロトニンの生成に特定の腸内フローラが関与することが明らかになりました。
無菌マウスの血中セロトニン濃度が通常環境で飼育されているマウスに比較して低濃度であり、無菌マウスは落ちつきがなくなるようです。
このようなマウスを普通の環境に戻したり、乳酸菌などを投与すると、マウスは落ちつきを取りもどします。子どもの脳の発達には腸内細菌の働きが大変重要であるようです。
腸内細菌にはカラダにとってよい作用をする有用菌（善玉菌）と悪い作用をする悪用菌（悪玉菌）が競り合ってすんでいます。この種類の多くは7歳ぐらいまでの生活で決定されるようですが、その後も腸内細菌の種類、量は多くの因子の影響を受けています。図を見てください。現状で私が考えている重要な因子を並べてみました。
有用菌を増加させるために最も重要なものが食物繊維です。特に水溶性の食物繊維が大事です。
大便の８０％は水分で、残りの２０％は剥がれた腸粘膜細胞、食べ物のカス、腸内フローラです。「バナナ便」と言われるような健康な大便のためにはいろんな対策が必要です。
重要なポイントは、大腸で「発酵」といわれる反応を上手く導き出すことで、この発酵反応には、材料としての食物繊維と主役の有用菌の存在が必須なのです。ところが困ったことに、日本人の食物繊維の摂取量は年々減少して、最近の調査によると、成人の１日当たりの食物繊維の摂取量は男女ともに１５ｇほどに低下しています。
１０代、２０代では１０ｇ前後と極めて少なくなっています。食物繊維を多く含む食材としては、野菜、芋類、キノコ類、海藻類、豆類などがありますが、洋食の普及と共にこういった野菜の摂取が減少しています。
玄米から精白米にする過程で食物繊維は６分の１程度に減少してしまいます。現在の日本人は平均で５〜１０ｇの食物繊維不足と考えられます。発酵食品は世界各地で昔から食卓に並んできました。
日本でおなじみの納豆、酢、みそ、しょうゆ、日本酒、漬け物、ヨーグルトはすべて発酵食品です。これらの発酵食品の製造には、カビ、酵母、細菌などの微生物、いわゆる発酵菌の働きが必要です。
もっとも重要な作用は、このような発酵菌が腸内フローラを有用菌に変化させることと考えられています。ポリフェノールにより腸内細菌の有用菌が増加することも分かってきました。
