The Simon Wiesenthal Center denounced BTS, an internationally popular Korean band whose live performance on Japan TV was cancelled.

この2点はかなり気になる――なぜなら日本人でも知らない「長崎と広島のキノコ雲の違い」を明らかにして非難していること、Mocking the victimsという表現を使って「被爆者を侮辱している」とSWCが認識していることを明らかにしていることから、決して「ナチの方は謝るけど、原爆部分は言いがかり」というメッセージを受け入れないという姿勢が伝わるからだ。はっきり言ってこのメッセージはナチ部分がかすむほどに反核的に読み取れる。謝罪すべき対象については「日本の人々（被爆者）とナチズムの犠牲者」と「日本の人々」を最初に置く念のいりようだ――これはそういう流儀なのかもしれないが。
SWCがこのようなリリースを出すのは驚きに値する。「原爆は終戦を促し無駄な犠牲を防いだ」という史観にさえ抵触しかねないからだ。原爆を開発した科学者にユダヤ人が多く含まれていたことも鑑みると、このようなメッセージが出たことは極めて興味深い。少なくとも巷間マスコミやはてなブックマーク等で言われるように「SWCが出てきちゃったよ、やれやれ」とかいった話ではなさそうなのである。原爆開発に積極的に加担したユダヤ人を代表するような団体が、「広島」と「長崎」を明示的に分けて「嘲笑した」と非難していることについて、多少の考えをいたして欲しい。

文法うんぬんじゃなくて単純に語彙力が足りないのと、読み方が悪いだけじゃないかな。
まず、単純にTOEIC 750点くらいって小学生低学年くらいの言語力なんだから大人向けをすらすら新聞読めなくても全くおかしくない。
日本語読む時だってすらすら読むっていうのは、文字情報をかいつまんで読んでいるのであって文章を一字一字を精読しているわけではないので、すらすら読みたいなら訳読式に読もうとするのをやめなきゃ。まずぱっと見て出てきた単語/まとまりで意味をつかめるようにならないとすらすら読めないと思うよ。
あとなんとなく、単語とか句を日本語と1対1に対応づけて把握している印象と文法構造を全部理解しきらないと読んだ気にならない感じがある。
それだと多分英語に触れるの大変だと思う。
新聞とか読むときは細かい語法に着目するっていうより関連する語彙を身につけることを優先して読む方が今の力ならあってると思う。
英語を楽しむなら細かい語法とかはたくさん読んでいけばなんとなくわかってくるくらいで良いと思うよ。

つーかこのasは何」ってなる。
その as は、「〜と同様に」という意味の接続詞。だから、この as with the health care debate は、「健康保険の議論におけるのと同様に」つまり「健康保険についての討論の場合にもそうであったように」という意味。日本語では、こういう時は普通は「健康保険についての討論でもそうだったが、」というように、逆接でない「が」を使ってなんとなくつなぐ。（こういう日本語に関する知識も役に立つ）
なお、こういう as や with の意味や使い方は、辞書や基本例文集に載っているので、しっかり調べればわかる。僕は高校1年で授業で教わった。辞書はジーニアスがオススメ。基本例文集は丸暗記しよう。
もうダメ。しっかり調べれば読めるんだろうけど、そんなことして楽しい？楽しくないよ！！
それでなにこれは一体どうすれば気持ちよく読めるようになるわけ？
そもそも楽しく気持ちよく読めるようなタイプの文章ではないと思う。眉間にシワを寄せてマジメに読むような文章だな。まあ、しっかり調べてじっくり読んで意味がわかれば、その達成感で気持ちがよかったりはすると思うが。
