ラスアス2とは

2020年 6月19日に発売されたPS4用ゲーム『The Last of Us Part II』。日本では「ラスアス2」、海外では「TLOU2」と略されることが多い。ソニー・インタラクティブエンタテインメント (SIE) のファーストパーティー（傘下スタジオ）であるノーティドッグ (Naughty Dog) が開発を担当し、SIEより発売された。アメリカのヴァージニア州に本拠地を置くノーティドッグは、『クラッシュバンディクー』シリーズや『ジャック×ダクスター』シリーズ、そして近年では『アンチャーテッド』シリーズによって知られている開発会社であり、2001年よりSIEの傘下スタジオとなっている。

I’m only 3 hours in, but the IGN Japan review of game res on at es the most so far. They basically said it’s a good game, but not 10/10. The gameplay is virtually identical to the original, which is 7 years old.

前作から引き続き主人公を務める女性主人公エリーは、本作ではレズビアンであることが明らかになり、新キャラクターでバイセクシャルのディーナと接近する。新キャラクターのレブはトランスジェンダーの少年である。今作でメインキャラクターの一人となるアビーは、発売前に誤って噂されていたようなトランスジェンダーの女性ではなく、単に「女性らしさ」がないだけの筋肉質な女性である。ラスアス2のシナリオを手掛けたNaughty Dogのイスラエル系アメリカ人のライターNeil Druckmann（ニール・ドラックマン）は、自身はシスジェンダーの男性であるものの、フェミニスト評論家Anita Sarkeesian（アニータ・サーキシアン）からの影響を公言しており、ジェンダーイコーリティや多様性に配慮したゲーム作りを心がけている。2004年よりNaughty Dogで働く彼は、前作『The Last of Us』や『アンチャーテッド海賊王と最後の秘宝』のクリエイティブディレクターおよびライターを務めた。

ユーザースコアの世界には、Troll（荒らし）によるreview bomb（レビュー爆弾、レビュー爆撃）というものがある。『Death Strand ing』のケースでは、1万8000件以上のユーザーレビューから約6000件以上が削除され、それにより「5.1」だったスコアは「7.3」まで上昇した。有名作の発売の際には、このようなreview bombの存在もまたよくある光景となっている（レビューサイトが「デス・ストランディング」への「疑わしいユーザー評価」を大量削除してスコアが一気に急上昇 - GIGAZINE https://gigazine.net/news/20191210-removed-death-stranding-suspicious-ratings/ ）。おそらく今回のラスアス2でも、後日いくらかのレビューが削除され、揺り戻しが起こるだろう。

しかしツイッターでの評判などを見る限り、この低評価の原因はTrollによるいたずらだけとは思えない。結局のところ不満を集めるのは、新メインキャラクターのアビーが男性に媚びたところのない政治的に正しい女性キャラクターだったからではなく、前作で辛い旅をともにしてプレイヤーがさんざん感情移入した主人公ジョエルがポッと出のアビーによく確認もされずあっさり射殺され、ジョエルの代わりにそのアビーを長時間にわたってプレイアブルキャラとして操作しなくてはならないというゲームの構造によるもの、それにとっちらかって焦点の定まらないストイーリーラインによるものだろう。

MIT伊藤教授、辞任へ　少女虐待の米富豪から資金

今回の辞任劇は米誌ニューヨーカー（電子版）による6日の報道がきっかけだった。伊藤氏とメディアラボの同僚が、エプスタイン氏を寄付提供者として不適格な人物と認識し、記録上は匿名とするなど、交友関係を意図的に隠す行為をしていたと報じた。MIT側は米誌の報道を受けて調査を始めている。

9月4日（水）のラボ総会では、辞職を考えている様子はなく、償いの説明を台無しにされたネグロポンテ教授（メディアラボ創設者）に抗議している。

That prompted Mr. Ito to send an email to Mr. Negroponte in the middle of the night, complaining that he was undercutting his ability to make amends.

ネグロポンテ教授いわく、「俺が伊藤（所長）に（エプスタイン）からの金を受け取れっていったんだよ。同じことがあれば、またそうする（所長に金を受け取れっていう）よ。」

この発言の詳しい経緯は、エプスタイン資金問題を受け、メディアラボの総会で話されたことにある。

水曜日のラボ総会で、伊藤氏は「（エプスタインから）金を受け取ったときはどうかしていた。しかし、大学に確認してもらって、アドバイザに確認してもらってから、金を受け取った」と説明していた。実際は、The New Yorkers の記事によれば、匿名化して資金を受け取った。記事が出る直前まで、資金は大学に確認してもらったと同僚にすら嘘をついて、所長の座に留まろうとした。

この伊藤氏を、MIT 関係者を多く含む233名が、保身のための嘘の謝罪を出した勇気と受け取った資金の返却の約束をとても尊敬しており、彼は、思慮深く、謙虚で、道徳観念がしっかりしていて、寛大である、と署名して認めている。支持者は、彼の嘘がばれたあと、この署名ページを削除している。
