LOVEBITESの動画には「私は今年70歳になるロックファンだが30年振りに夢中になれるニューバンドを見つけた」というような英語コメントが頻繁に書き込まれる。「LOVEBITES reaction」でYouTube検索すると膨大な量の海外リアクターの動画と、そこに書き込まれた膨大なオタク早口の英語コメントを見つけることができる。Wikipediaは日本語版より英語版の方がはるかに充実している。そういう存在のバンドだ。
世界中の音楽チャートがヒップホップやR＆Bといったダンスミュージック中心になってもう長いこと経つ。そんな中で日本のチャートは異様なほど独自の多様性がある。別の言い方をすると世界的な音楽トレンドから取り残されて、時代遅れのダサい音楽も生き延びる余地があるユニークなシーンだ。
2010年代前半BABYMETALがアイドル＋メタルの企画物としてデビューした。しかしながらボーカルの歌声とメタルアレンジが本物すぎたので妙に受けた。特にメタル音楽がほぼ失速していた海外においてメタルファンが衝撃を受けた。それ以降、流行りの音楽とは別の嗜好を持った世界中の音楽ファンたちが日本のインディーバンドを熱心に発掘するようになった。
なぜ、日本ではロックバンドが生き延びているのか。アニメ「ぼっち・ざ・ろっく！」の設定にもあったが、80～90年代のバンドブーム世代の人たちがお父さんお母さんになり、親の聴くロックバンドの影響を受けた子供たち世代が出てきたのが今の日本だ。
BABYMETALと同時期に国内ではDESTROSEという女性ジャパメタバンドが活動していた。DESTROSEはメンバーも安定せず成功したとは言い難いが、現在のシーンを牽引するNEMOPHILA、FATE GEARなどのメンバーを輩出した重要バンドである。そしてまたLOVEBITESも元DESTROSEのメンバーが結成したバンドだ。

高校を卒業し、クラウド・ファンディングでソロアルバムを出し、すぐに川口千里のような若き実力派ミュージシャンとして活動していくものと期待されていたが、その後あまりうまくいっていなかったようでYouTubeチャンネルも数カ月更新が止まっていた。

そんな中、2023年2月22日に満を持してLOVEBITESの新アルバムがリリースされた。吉と出るか凶と出るかfamiにとってもバンドにとっても審判の日である。
そこにはBPM200の16分音符で凶悪かつスリリングにルートを刻むfamiがいた。ドラムとの相性もよくメタルのベーシストとしても超一流であることをfamiは実力で証明した。これを聴けばもう心配する人はいないだろう。実はLOVEBITES加入まで語られてこなかったがfamiもまたメタラー親父に英才教育を受けたメタラー二世だったのだ。
他方、バンドの方にも変化が見られた。アルバム発売日に公開された新曲のMVはいままでのLOVEBITESとかなり異なるものだった。曲のパワーとスピードはこれまで以上であるが、以前のようなメタルの美学的な映像ではなくカジュアルな服装で楽しそうにわちゃわちゃ演奏している明るいMVになっている。こういった演出もfami加入以前には考えられなかっただろう。
アルバムとしての評価も高く、すでに世界中のメタルチャートで一位となっている。
そして3月の復活ライブはチケットが瞬殺した。YouTubeコメントを見ると海外ファンも飛行機に乗ってこのライブを見るためにチケットを買ったらしい。その後も9月には国内ツアーが予定されている。完全復活である。近いうちに海外イベントにもまた出演するだろう。
ライダーだのプリキュアだの、ジャリ番を大人が受け身で観てもあんまり面白くはなかった。大人でも楽しめるとか言うけれど、まあそんなもんだと思いました。
散りばめられた細かいテーマや表現技法を積極的に、色々と読み取ろうというのがオタク的姿勢なんだろうけれど。それをわざわざジャリ番でやるのが、何というか傾いていてちょっとかっこいいなとは思うけど、自分にはそういう鑑賞は合わないなって思いました。受け身で観ていても楽しめる深夜アニメなり映画なりでやりたい。
深読みが出来るようになりたいけれど、誤読は嫌だね。バズり目当ての大喜利じみた拡大解釈というかこじつけに走るあのノリもイヤだな。
あんまり良い例えが思いつかないけど、ちょっと前にすみっコぐらしをFateとか言ってたような。子供向けコンテンツを露悪的に語るというか、ちょっとした描写を捉えて地獄地獄言ってキャッキャするような感じの。
何というか、周りの反応伺いながら上手いこと言ってやろうと思ったり、受け売りのツギハギをするよりも、自分の言葉で自分の感想を言えるようになりたいですね。ありきたりですが。まあ、ついそれが的確であったり独自な視点であったりして欲しいと思ってしまいますけどね。
普通の事言ったって良いと思うんですよ。ケチを付けるのが批評だと勘違いするよりも、素直におもしれーつまらんと言えた方が良いですよ絶対。
「男→女」「女→男」「男→男」「女→女」という性別の組み合わせのうち、血縁関係のない相手を身銭を切って養わないのって
「女→女」だけだと思う。
男が女を養うのって、別に自称弱者男性が想定しているようなボランティアでも何でもなく
その女が自分の子供を産んでくれて子孫を残せるという実利に基づいた理由からだし、もしも子無しだとしても少なくとも性欲は満たしてくれるというメリットがあるからだよね。
あと、よく自称弱者男性は「女は男を養わない」って言ってるけれどそれは間違ってて
実際には女は普通に男を養ってるんだよね
自分が主な稼ぎ手となって売れないバンドマンだのポスドクだのを養っている女だって珍しくない
で、そういう女が何故そういう行動を取るのかっていうと、別にそれは無償の愛情からでも何でもなく、
将来相手の男のバンドがブレイクするなりテニュアの教授になって優れた業績を残すなりして自分の苦労が報われる可能性があるからだよね。
男が女を養う動機が子供や性欲にあるのと同様に、何の見返りもないのに尽くしている訳ではない。
男女に賃金格差のある社会である以上、女が男を養うのはそれだけ多くの経済的リターンが見込まれるから。
これは男が男を養う場合も同様で、武内崇が奈須きのこに仕事を辞めさせてまで執筆に専念させていたのは、月姫やFateのような将来的な大ヒットが見込まれたから。
女が女を養わないっていうのは、要はそういう動機がないからなんだよ
男が女を養うのは子供を産ませたいから、そうでないとしても性欲を満たしたいから。女が(あるいは男が)男を養うのは将来経済的な見返りを得たいから。
「男→女」「女→男」「男→男」にはいずれも、尽くしただけの見返りが見込まれるという動機がある。
「女→女」の場合、相手を養う事に対してそういう動機やモチベーションがない
女でも稼ぐ事は可能だという前提に立つならば、他の女を養って将来的な見返りに期待するよりも今現在自分で稼いだ金を自分自身のためだけに使う方が合理的で効率的。
女がどんなに女に尽くしたところで、相手はいずれ男に走って今までの労力の成果を持って行かれるのが目に見えている。
