ところで、せっかくの退職エントリですので感慨深いものですし、ここはひとつ昔話などをしたいと思います。
まずはAppBank GAMESの軌跡を年表にして振り返ってみました。
2012年2月 AppBank GAMESがスタートしました。
2012年7月 G君という大変優秀なレベルデザイナーがジョインしました。
2012年10月 Dungeons and Golfの追い込み時期にとある出来事が発生しました。
2012年12月3日 Dungeons and Golfがリリースされました。すごいバグってました。
2012年12月 第二次反乱が発生しました。G君が辞めました。
2012年12月 ゲーム業界きってのベテラン、I氏がジョインしました。それと同時に正式なジョインではないのですが、もう一人とあるソシャゲを作っていたベテランのZ氏が時々お手伝いに来てくださるようになりました。
2013年春 第二作目、トキノラビリンスの制作が開始されました。
2013年10月 第三次反乱が発生しました。このタイミングで私が退職、それに合わせて9人ぐらい合計で退職しました。多分I氏もこのぐらいのタイミングで辞めたかと思います。Z氏については詳細不明です。
2014年5月ぐらい トキノラビリンスがリリースされました。
なかなか壮絶な年表ですね。語りたいことがたくさんあるので順々に語っていきたいと思います。
社長のブログにも挙がってましたけど、まずなんといってもI氏について思い出があるので簡単に語らせていただきたいなと思います。
私はI氏のことを（50台とは思えない勢いだから）炎上おじさんっていつも呼んでたんですけど、なにやらゲーム界隈ではちょっとしたレジェンドだったらしいすね。私は全然知らなかったですしその意識は今でもないです。そのI氏ですけど、2012年の末にやってきて開口一番「このゲーム(Dungeons and Golf)はクソだ」みたいなことを言い出しまして、現場一同全員「よく言ってくれた！」と陰ながら感動していたのをよく覚えています。なにせ社長から社員に至るまで誰一人F2Pゲームのことを理解しないでつくったものですから課金メソッドも継続させる手段も何もないですからね。申し訳程度にガチャっぽいものがついてた程度でした。そりゃ儲からねえよと。今の私はいろいろと勉強して分かるようになったのですが、当時は本当に何もわからなくて。
そこでI氏がいろいろと改革に着手して社長と揉めてどうのこうのになったわけなのですが、そこについては社長がご自身のブログでなにやらご意見を述べられているようですね。ということでここでは私の目線から見たI氏をちょっと語ってみようかと思います。
I氏の経歴はよく知らないのですが、いろいろF2Pのゲームを作られたりして経験があられたようです。経験と知識は間違いなく底が深くて、当時のF2Pのゲームの定石についてもまるで詩経を諳んじるがごとくに次々に語ってくださいました。その内容についても適切だったのを覚えています。I氏は自分で適切に考えられるし適切に決められるし適切に分析できる方だったかと思っております。私がF2Pのゲームロジックを考えられるようになったのは間違いなくI氏のおかげです。
ただ2点ほど、社長が今でもI氏をご自身のブログで随分批判されている原因になったと私が思っている点があるんですね。
一つはI氏が過去の経験に少し引きずられていた可能性が否定出来ないこと。
一つはI氏が高齢だったことです。
Dungeons and Golfを当時分析すると、最初の設計からまともな課金ロジックが一切喝采抜け落ちていて、ゲームとしては遊べるんだけど課金はまずできないという形になっていました。そこでI氏は一般的なF2Pの課金ロジックの仕組みを導入しようとしたのですが、今考えてみればむしろ最近勃興しているF2W（Free 2 Win、LoLやWoTなどのまともな課金要素が一切ないゲーム）にDungeons and Golfは近い形になっていました。であれば無理無理F2P要素を付けてしまうよりはF2W要素を強くして、プログレスもない、まともなガチャもない、ただ延々とゴルフが遊べるだけ、みたいなゲームみたいな感じに着地させるほうがおそらく無理はなかったんじゃないのかなと思うんですよね。
この点に関してはI氏と話し合ってないのでわかりませんが、社長からこれぐらいの数字が必要なんだって話がされていたので無理やりF2P要素をつけたのかもしれませんし、I氏が過去の経験に引きずられてF2P要素を導入したのかもしれません。これはわかりませんが、ひょっとしたらI氏は過去の最適解にとらわれすぎてしまったのかもしれません。
もう1つ、I氏は先程申し上げた通りご高齢の方なんですね。高齢になるとまずどうしても頑固になる。自分の意志が強くなるといいますか。その上子供っぽい方ですから、それで社長とよく揉めてたんじゃないのかなと。あと高齢の方なのでどうしても体力がない。デスマができないんですね。XXXをやる、とはいってくださるんですが、当時のAppBank GAMESはそれこそ連日デスマの嵐みたいな日々でしたから、体がついてこないんでしょう。提出物が上がってこないことがありまして、私の右腕にW君という大変面白い若いゲームプロデューサーがついていてくださったのですが、彼も「Iさんは考えは素晴らしいんだけど手が追いついてないから俺らがやらないとね」と言っているような具合でした。
さてAppBank GAMESを語る上で避けては通れないのは、やっぱり社長についての思い出ですね。
みなさまは小学校や中学校のころに、このような担任の先生をお持ちになったご経験はありませんでしょうか。

まぁこんな感じです。
先ほどの年表に3回「反乱」ってのが登場しますね。つぎはこちらについて語らせていただきたいと思います。
最初の反乱は当時アートを担当されていたA氏が主導だったんですね。彼は長いことゲームでアートをやっているベテランでしたから、もともと社長が考えていたDungeons and Golfより面白そうなプランとかを考えてついたんですね。ある意味元の原型がとどまらないぐらいのプランを。で、それを社長に提案したんですね。
そこで社長がキレた。それはもう猛烈に。怒号が隣の部屋にいる私たちに聞こえるぐらいの勢いでね。「裏切り」とかなんとか言って怒ってましたが詳細はよく覚えてません。自分でドンドン提案しろとか言ってる人なんですけどね。
それ以来そのアート担当のA氏は一切社長に提案もしなければ信頼もしなくなってしまいました。まぁ当の社長は覚えてないでしょうけど。
二回目の反乱はG氏に関するものです。レベルデザイナーとか運営経験のある人が必要だからということで、G氏を社長が雇い入れたんですね。でまぁ、12月になって社長が「お前は運営プロデューサーとして雇ったのになんだこれは！責任を果たせ！！」みたいなことを言い出しまして。
責任を果たせもクソもリリース当時のDungeons and Golfにはイベントを打つ機能もなければ課金動線も何も一切無いんですから運営しようがないんですけどね。社長はそういうのゲームデザインしてくださいませんでしたので。なおそういう機能はI氏が考案してくださいました。
三回目の反乱は私に関するものです。当時私はとある事情で二作目トキノラビリンス、社内ではまだポケットラビリンスって呼んでたんですが、そいつの制作指揮をやってたんですね。でまぁこれも年内に出せと。1年前どっかで聞いたぞそのセリフ。しかしながらサーバもクライアントもアートも音も何もかも未完成、どう考えても年内リリースは無理、多分来年の夏ぐらいになるんじゃないんかなってぐらいの見積もりだったんですね。私もエンジニアの端くれですから大体の見積もりとかはわかるわけで。
そういうわけで社長に相談してみたりもしたんですが、「年内にリリースされないと計画上の売上が達成できないからなんとか」とか、あとは「SEGAさんと組んでるから遅れてお客さんを待たせるのはプロとしてありえない」とか言われての一点張りでして。なるほど社長、あなたのおっしゃる「先進的かつ斬新な開発マネージメント」というのは見積もりを無視してとりあえず線を引いてみて気合で煽ることですか。そりゃ仰るとおり斬新ですね。計画上の売上が出ないなら外注でも何でも営業して持ってきて辻褄合わせていただくなり、運転資金を持ってくるなりしていただけると社長っぽくて助かるのですが。
ただこの点に関しては実際社長の言い分ももっともで、私のゲームの制作指揮をする能力不足が多分にあって後から追加した機能とか変更した仕様がたくさんあるんですね。それで予定よりはるかに遅延してしまっているのも間違いなくて。2013年、まさにソーシャルゲームの内容と規模が拡大し製作コストと期間が肥大化し始めていたころですから。作る側の能力も圧倒的に不足していたと思っています。
こんなあたりの顛末が社長のブログで闇とか言って語られてますが、そりゃ闇ですよ。まともに現実見てる人間が引いたスケジュールじゃないんですから、終わるわけがない。皆病んでしまいました。
それで私の精神がおかしくなってしまったところを師匠（仮）にTwitterでメッセされて、「いいから今すぐ辞めろ」とアドバイスされまして。そのままアドバイスに従って今すぐ退職した次第であります。多分退職してなかったら間違いなく本当に気が狂っていたかと思うと今でも師匠には感謝申し上げる次第です。それから社長、途中でほっぽりだして本当に申し訳ありませんでした。
でまぁ私がやめたら皆堰を切ったようにやめちゃって。I氏が他人を勧誘して引き抜いたんだ〜みたいな書かれ方をされていますがこれは大嘘で、皆辞めたかったんですよ始めっから。単に私が堰を切っちゃった。あんなリーダーシップのない人間の下でのデスマに耐えられる人間はそうはいません。私が単に一番脆弱だっただけで。
その後、トキノラビリンスは半年ずれ込んでリリースされたようです。リリースされてよかったです。本当に。完成させてくれた皆さん有り難うございます。ま、トキノラビリンスのクレジットを見たところ私は居なかったことになってましたけど、しょうがないかなと思います。この点に関しては私も多分に悪いですから。
さて最後に受託、社長はブログであれは輝かしい復活みたいなことをいろいろ書かれているようなんですが、これって実は簡単な話なんですね。
受託先の方がゲームプロデューサーで、すべてのスケジュールと線を引いているんですから。マネジメントはそちらなんですね。ウチラは人を出してるだけ。社長は技術顧問ということにしてメンツの上で置いておくだけという体制です。そうするとうまく回ったという。これは当時そちらの受託の中で仕事をしている人から直接内情を教えてもらったので間違いないかと。
結局、社長が主張していることはいつでも三つしか無いようにみえるんですね。
全て自分は悪く無い（自分の理論の中では、自分の行動は間違っていないのだから周りが間違っている）
私が退職してから2年が過ぎましたが、彼は何一つ変わりませんでしたね。今も変わっていないようで大変残念です。未だに「ご自身がAppBankから直々に株式没収されて会社ごと消された」「そのためにAppBank社内およびAppBank GAMES現場社員による大変な尽力の裏工作が発生していた」ことに気づいていらっしゃらないようですしね。
