海外製のフリーのビジュアルノベルエンジン"Ren'Py"の作者が、昨今のエロゲ規制騒動に関して氏のwebサイトでメッセージを掲示しました。

今まで生きてきた中で、私はさまざまな形のアートに触れてきました。

そして、この5年間にわたってずっと普及に向けてつとめてきたアートの形態が一つあります。ビジュアルノベルです。

文章と絵と音楽が絡み合うビジュアルノベルは、コンピュータ技術を用いてインタラクティブな物語を形作ります。

正しく用いられれば、この媒体は様々な文化圏に渡って真にすばらしい物語を伝えるために使えることでしょう。

この数ヶ月、これらの物語の作者たちは規制を求める声に追い立てられています。

他のアートの形態であれば、そのような規制は忌避すべきものと公正に判じられることでしょう。

ビジュアルノベルは比較的新しい媒体であり、美術館や書店で見られるような、他のアートの形態と同様の題材を扱うことは認められない、と

こうした規制の推進者は考えているのでしょうか。

日本政府にお願いします。ビジュアルノベルを、私人に向けて私的に販売される、他のアートの形態と同様に扱ってください。

書籍や漫画や映画で語ることのできる物語を、ただコンピュータの画面に写されているからと言うだけの理由で禁止するというのは

あってはならないことです。

日本および世界中のビジュアルノベル制作者の方々へお願いします。自主規制を求める声に屈しないでください。

あなた方が伝えたいと思う物語、読み手が読みたいと願う物語を語り続けてください。

それ以外の道をたどることは、わたしたちのアートをいかなる意味であれ価値の劣るものとして扱うということです。

そんなことは受け入れられません。

Regarding Censorship of Visual Novels

Over the course of my life, I've been exposed to many different forms of art. And yet, there's one form that I've spent the past five years of my life trying to encourage, and that's the visual novel. Involving text, pictures, and music, visual novels use computer technology to create a interactive stories. In the right hands, this medium can be used to tell truly great stories that span cultures.

Over the past few months, the creators of these stories have been hounded with calls for censorship; censorship that we would rightly find abhorrent in other forms of media. Perhaps these censors believe that since the visual novel is a relatively young medium, they should not be allowed to cover same range of material as other art forms — material one can find in art galleries and bookstores.

To the Japanese government, let me ask that you treat visual novels in the same way as other art, sold privately to private consumers. Stories that can be told in books, comics, and movies should not be prohibited simply because they are displayed on a computer screen.

To the creators of visual novels, in Japan and the rest of the world, let me just ask that you resist calls for self-censorship and continue to tell the stories that you wish to tell, and that audiences wish to experience. To do otherwise would be to treat our art as somehow less worthy, and that is unacceptable.

■ボカロオリジナルを歌ってくれない2

前回の指摘を踏まえて

ボカロオリジナルを歌ってくれない（http://anond.hatelabo.jp/20090608225441）を書いた増田です。

ブコメでid:sky-graph、id:alshine5、id:kadotanimitsuruから「歌い手に人気がある動画を調べるなら歌ってみたの投稿数を見なきゃだめなんじゃないの？」と指摘があって、まったくその通りだと思った。前回調査をした時はなぜかそれを思いつかなかった（難しそうな気がしていた？）けど、やってみたら、思ったより簡単だったので、調べ直してみた。

調査方法
この調査の欠点
  • 前回とおなじだけど、タグ頼りなので「歌ってみた」動画取得に漏れはあるかも。ただ、印象としては8割方拾えてそうな気がするし、今回は相対評価をしたいので、まあ、いいか。
  • 再生数が極端に多い動画は低めに評価されるかも（例えば、「みくみくにしてあげる♪」の歌ってみた投稿数は469だから、絶対数でいえば多い方だけど、相対的には下位に入る）。

この結果を見た感想

予想通りだけど、投稿数のみでいえば「メルト」圧勝。「WIM」と「B★RS」が1000超えで、あとそれ以外、という感じ。

正直、これじゃあなんにも面白くないので、「歌われ指数」というのを導入してみた。算出手順は「調査方法」の通り。

「歌われ指数」でいうと、これはあまり意味のある数字ではないのでどれが多い少ないを言ってもしょうがないと思うけれど、0.3以上（つまり「Soar」以上）を上位と見なせば、やはりdoriko、supercell、流星Pが強いなという印象は受ける。

ゆうゆPとOSTER projectの場合

さて、この結果を友人に見せてみた。友人は、「ゆうゆP、歌われてないなあ……」とぼやいていた（ゆうゆP歌ってみた動画を熱望しているらしい）。

そういう意味では、元増田もOSTER project歌ってみた動画を熱望している。しかし、表中では下位である。

二人とも、表中の曲が、まだ歌ってみたが流行ってない時期（そんな時期があるのか分からないが）のものだから不利なのだろうか、最近は歌ってみたも結構増えてたりするのだろうか。

そんなことを思ったので、ついでにゆうゆP、OSTER projectの一連のオリジナル曲についても取ってみた。

そうすると、興味深いことが分かった。

調査方法

ゆうゆPに関しては、予想通りだけど、「experimental」シリーズは1曲も歌われてないよね……その代わりというわけではないけれど、「極楽鳥 -bird of paradise- 」が突出して歌われている。

一方、OSTER projectはというと、「ピアノ×フォルテ×スキャンダル」が再生数の比して突出して歌われている。あとは「つきうさぎ」と「one more kiss」が多いか。

調査結果からいえること

再生数上位群でいくと、やはりdoriko、supercell、流星Pが強い。ただ、これは作者依存というより、これらの作者が歌い手に好かれる楽曲をより多く作っているからに過ぎない。

というのも、再生数上位群の中ではあまり歌われていないゆうゆPとOSTER projectだが、彼らの楽曲の中にもすごくよく歌われている歌も存在するからだ。

作者という要素はまったく無視できないにせよ（人気作者の曲はやはり歌い手もその存在を認知しやすいだろう）、歌い手に好かれる要素の大部分は個別の楽曲の中に現れているといえる。

では、歌い手に好かれる楽曲とは……

ここでずばっと説明したいのだが、自分は音楽的素養がないためうまく言葉にできない。なんとなくは分かるんだけど。

id:y_arimとかだとこの辺をうまく説明してくれるのだろうか。なんて結論を投げ出してしまったり。

Funnily enough I have been searching free tools today and here are a few goodies I am happy to share with you and the group.

1. http://www.keotag.com/ - searches tags on blogs and social bookmarking sites. (been having plenty of fun with this one and it's seems v. useful).

2. http://boardtracker.com/ - Searches posts on bullitin boards / forums for mentions of keywords / brand terms.

3. http://www.trendrr.com/ - enables you to track trends and provides some very valuable competitive analysis functionality.

4. http://usernamecheck.com/ This tool is essential for brand name protection. It lets you search a wide range of social sites to see if anyone is using your brand term / name as their profile ID. If they are not then I would suggest you register your brand / business name even if you do not plan to use the site to protect your business from damage. If your name is taken and not being used the chances are it is being squatted by a chancer. I had this issue on twitter with my social site for business people marzar.com but the nice folks at twitter reverted the name to me as the trade mark owner as soon as I contacted them in regards to the issue.

5. http://hellotxt.com update your status from one place across multiple social sites.

6. http://www.twilert.com/ Seems to be a number of tools to monitor twitter but this one seems to be pretty useful. Twilert is a Twitter application that lets you receive regular email updates of tweets containing your brand, product, service, well any keyword you like really.

7. http://www.backtype.com/ Monitors comments left on blog posts monitoring posts for sentiment may not be enough and issues and or insights often come from the comments posted by readers.

8. http://socialmention.com/ Again allows you to search blog posts, comments, news, events, images, bookmarks, microblogs and video all at once or on their own. This is a very useful tool and when I searched on my brand terms it came back with results that the other tools did not pick up on. In particular I found the bookmark search to be of value.

9. http://www.samepoint.com conversation search engine again came back with differing results to the other tools listed above.

10. http://www.marzar.com free to use business networing platform. Many members are involved with online marketing and or are senior business people. The audience is similar to Linkedin but the functionality differs. I built this site and I am working hard towards the next release of our platform now that we are funded.

　少し前に述べたとおり俺が座っている席は窓際であり、そこは春の暖かな日差しに当たりうつらうつらと舟を漕ぎまどろむことができるいわば桃源郷、アルカディアなのであるが、この日の日差しは特に気持ちよくしかもそのときの授業は特に眠気を誘う英語であったもんだから、俺はある意味永久機関と呼んでもいいあの水飲み鳥のごとく首をカクカクさせつつ覚醒と睡眠の間に流れる三途の川を渡す船の上で船頭と渡し賃について押し問答を繰り広げることになってしまった。およそ５分程度すったもんだを続けた末、俺と船頭も何とか渡し賃について合意を得てさあ彼岸に渡らんと意識を手放しかけたとき、それは突然やってきた。

「――――んガっ！？」

　いきなり後ろにもンの凄い力で引っ張られたと思ったら後頭部にとてつもない痛みが走った。

「～～～～～ッ、なぁにしやがるっ！？」

　おま、打ち所が悪ければ死に至るほど危険な行為だぞ今のは、と憤然とした思いを胸に振り返りそう怒鳴った俺が見たのは、涼宮山ハルヒの――思えば初めて見る――デザートイーグルのマズルフラッシュの瞬間の映像のような笑顔だった。もし笑顔に温度が付随するのだとしたら、重度の火傷を負ってしまっているだろう。

「気が付いたでごわすぅ！！」

　……ええい、唾を飛ばすな唾を。何に気が付いたんだ。

「どうしてこんな簡単なことに気が付かなかったのでごわすかなあ！！」

「だから何が！」

「無いんだったら、自分で立ち上げればいいではないでごわすか！！」

「だぁから何を！？」

「――――部活でごわすぅ！」

　は。

「……わかった。でもまぁ、取りあえず今は落ち着け」　

「ちょっと何でごわすかその冷めた反応は！？　もうちょっとおんしもこの発見を喜んでほしいものでごわす！」

　授業中だから――ってオイ！？

「えー、『One hundred million and two thousand years from now, I has been loving you．』ここの訳し方ですが――」

「せんせー、すいません、そのちょっと前の『Words can't say of th-is time I've been waiting to share my love with you．』の訳がちょっとおかしい気がするんですが」

「え？　えーと……ああ！　ごめんなさい、正しくは――」

　無視かよ！？　なんだそれ！？　「涼宮山の相手はオマエに任せるから後はよろしく」って態度の表れかコノヤロウ先生も谷口も国木田も朝倉川もその他諸々のクラスメイトも！？

　てかハルヒもほら、俺たち完全にないがしろにされてしまっているんだぞ、ここはさすがに怒るのが正当だと思うんだ俺は。

「――そうでごわすな、授業中でごわした。ちょっとはしゃぎすぎたでごんす。だから授業後に詳しく説明することにしたでごわすから、授業後はそのまま大人しくしているでどすこいよ？」

　ええええええスルーか、この状況をスルーか！？　もうちょっと反応しろよ、クラス内立ち位置についての危急存亡のとき（俺の）なんだよ！

「部屋…………部屋……うむむ」

　ぐう……と、とにかく。

　流石に授業中に騒ぐことはダメだと思う心はあるのか、ハルヒは大人しく引き下がり何事かブツブツ呟きながら席についたのだった。

■友人をやめた人

僕にはいろんな理由から、友人関係を解消した（と僕は思っている）人が何人かいる。その理由については詳しく触れないが、別に僕のせいではないと思う。彼らはそれなりのことをしでかしてくれたので、僕も、もう話したくもないと思っている。

そのうちの一人が IM してきて、僕は最初誰だかわからなかった。

イージーSidebar

サイドバー内で表示するサイドバーを切り替えたり、分離したりするだけのアドオン。

やたらと他のアドオンと機能干渉するので、あまり使いたくない。

これだけじゃなくて、この人のつくってるアドオンは大抵の他のアドオンと干渉する傾向があるらしい。

しかし、ピンポイントで同機能でアドオンをつくってる人はいないようなのでコレを使うしかない

All-in-One Sidebarはアイコンがダサいので使いたくない

Personal Menu

ツールバーにEzSidebarのアイコン追加するとメニューがひらかなくなる

FireGesture

サイドバーを切り離すと動作がおかしくなる。

　

サイドバー分離中にジェスチャを行うと一回のジェスチャで二回分移動する。

↓→というジェスチャでタブを閉じるとかやると隣の閉じていけないタブまで閉じられてしまう

ちなみにEzSidebar削除すると上の不具合は起こらなくなる

■Skypeのカスタマーサポートが酷すぎる件

というか、スカイプにカスタマーサポートが存在していない件。

海外に電話をかける必要があり、スカイプから海外の固定電話や携帯電話と通話できるサービスを使おうと思って、スカイプのクレジットを購入したつもりだった。

つもりだったというのは、決済したのにいまだにクレジットが加算されていないからだ。

いつものようにやたらと重いマイアカウントのページを開き、クレジットカード情報を入力して、

煩雑な本人確認サービスをかいくぐってやっとのことでクレジット購入手続きを済ませたつもりだった。

決済完了の画面が出て、「通常、クレジットカードで直接申し込んだ注文の処理は15分以内に完了します」と書かれている。

が、一時間以上たった現在でもまったく加算される気配がない。

文句の一つでも言いたいと思い、問い合わせ窓口を探したが、日本語のページには問い合わせ窓口へのリンクが一切ない。

英語のページでヘルプデスクを探すも、いっこうに直接問い合わせる窓口へたどり着かない。

クレジットカードでカネを客に払わせ、フォローがないまま完全放置である。

30分ほどして、メールが届いた。

決済完了か？　と思ったら、英文で

we're processing your order

（注文を処理中）

という件名だった。

本文には

Credit card transactions usually clear within one hour, but can take up to 24 hours.

（クレジットカード決済には通常一時間以内に完了しますが、24時間かかることもあるよ）

と書いてある。

15分で終わると書いていたのは、どこの誰なのか。口あたりのよい嘘か。

メールには続きがある。

こりゃひでぇと思ったので、目に付いたところだけでも突っ込んでみる。専門家ではないので嘘が混じっている可能性は否定しない。なお、資料の入手しやすさから基本的にアメリカとの比較で考えている。

定額給付金については、制度設計をうまくやれば機能するかもしれないけど今のままじゃやるだけ無駄だろ派。

　定額給付金2兆円のうち30％～60％は実際の消費の増加に結びつくと予想される

比較的楽観的な研究としてBroda and Parker (http://www.voxeu.org/index.php?q=node/1541)によるものを取り上げる。これによると

One characteristic of the Japanese language is that it can express social identities by the mode of speech adopted: it can sound polite, aggressive, old, young, manly, girly, etc. just by changing how you call yourself. The content of the utterance itself does not have to change. Of course, this can be seen in many languages, even English. What is unique to Japanese, however, is that the degree of this embeddedness of the social identity in the utterance is very high. Many other language can express this through the body-language or non-verbal operation of the body. Japanese, on the other hand, make use of the verbal very strongly.

On the web, this may cause an interesting phenomena which cannot be observed in the English sphere: strong schismogenesis. Take the culture of 2ch, for example: language used there strongly differs from the 'normal' Japanese language, yet comprehensible. This creates a certain type of discourse that is differentiated from the 'real' world. Moreover, people may accuse each other for adopting a certain mode of talking.

Again, this is not to argue that other languages do not have this characteristic. In Britain, for example, the vocabulary used by the higher class and the lower class is very different. Youths may use a certain form of abbreviation (e.g. "r u ok?"). However the Japanese language can encompass something much more than that. It can express the class, gender, feelings, level of politeness, etc just by changing the verbal expression, which may result in debasement of the value of non-verbal expression.

■何ともなあ。

リンク先の話とは「駄々っ子」という所以外はちょっとずれるし、

この増田と自分もそう変わらないんだけど。

恋愛も【one of 人間関係】だということが忘れ去られてしまう、のが恋愛の罠なんだよな。

相手にとってもそれは同じ。

テクニカルな部分だったり経験的にだったり偶然にだったりで、

簡単に恋愛が手に入るようになってしまうと、そうした罠がぽっかりと口を開けて待ってる。

でも最近はどんどんフリーアクセスの論文誌が増えてきてる。

冊子体を刊行してないオンラインジャーナルではほとんど、どの論文もタダでダウンロードできる。

一番の大御所はPLoSシリーズ(http://www.plos.org/journals/index.php)。

生物系の雑誌が多いけど、PLoS ONE はサイエンスのすべての領域をカバーしてる。

ただ編集方針として、結果の新奇性は問わず、内容的に正しければ採用、というやりかたなので

面白い論文もつまらない論文もごちゃまぜになっている。

他にはFrontierシリーズとか（神経科学ばっかりだが)、New Journal of Physics とかも

フリーアクセスのオンラインジャーナル。

あとCell Pressの雑誌の多く(CellやNeuronなどのその分野のトップジャーナルも含む)は

発行後1年たった論文はフリーアクセスだし、PNASも半年でフリーアクセス。

あと物理系だったらArxiv(http://jp.arxiv.org/)知らなきゃモグリ。

First, let me welcome you to the region. Second, I would like to disagree with you about your description of literature as a skilful lie. A lie must, by definition, involve malice, deception, whereas literature is about imagination: there is no malice about that. Unfortunately, much of what you hear lately on international TV about Israel are indeed lies, not even fiction. You say that Israel is the wall and the Palestinians are the eggs, just because we have Tanks. You tend to forget that the Palestinians are part of more than one billion Muslims in the world, many of whom would like to get rid of Israel if they just could. I don`t doubt that this fellow`s books may be addictive, but I do doubt the value of getting hooked on stories that are all, apparently, based on a false ontology of the world being clearly divided into "walls" and "eggs." As talkback #1 points out, even tank-drivers have their fragility, and to deny their humanity by summarily labeling them "walls," and considering them to be part of some chimerical menace called "the system," is to paint a thin veneer of chivalry over a rotten base of moral recklessness.

What`s been going on in Sderot over the last several years? Have Gazans, driven to desperation by the evil system-monster, been left with no option but to toss their eggs against the walls that surround them? Is it evil for people on the receiving end to retreat unto bomb-shelters (aka "walls") against which these eggs can`t help but break?

Mr. Murakami, walls don`t break eggs unless there is someone throwing those eggs.

I get where you`re coming from because I`m tired of utopian solutions from dreamers in Europe.

But I believe Murakami is a guy who also understands the tank driver and our kids in Sderot. I know we`re not used to having media acknowledge our citizens as people, so we get defensive, but I give Mr. Murakami the benefit of the doubt.

From his speech I feel he`s criticizing the entire system that has our neighbors trying to destroy us in the first place and the world legitimizing it and the common acceptance of boycotting Israel because it`s the in thing to do. This guy is acknowledging our fight to overcome this as individuals and as societies.

This guy is deeper than our critics from Europe, and this guy is a novelist, not a critic.

In Norwegian Wood he painted a really accurate picture of some self-righteous university organizations, quite similar to many of our critics. All I`m saying is before dismissing him or arguing, see that he`s not picking fights or sides.. besides us eggs

村上は戦車の兵士やスデロットの子供たちも理解していると思う。メディアはぼくらを人間あつかいしないから、防戦一方だけど。でも村上さんに対して性急な判断は控えたい。ぼくらのご近所さんがイスラエルを破壊しようとしている事、世界がそれを正当化しようとしている事、イスラエルボイコットの考えが一般化する事を強制するシステム全体を非難しているようにぼくには思えた。こいつは僕らの戦いが個人として、社会として克服されるって事を知ってる。

ヨーロッパの評論家よりずっとわかってるし、彼は小説家であって評論家じゃない。

ノルウェイの森に出てくる独善的な学生運動家は評論家連中みたいで、きっちり描かれている。彼のことをくさす前に、論争を挑んだり一方の側につくつもりがないのを理解しないと。
