私が考える「つまる人生」すなわち面白い人生とは、一言で言えば内発的な動機と偶然性に彩られたものです。
内発的な動機とは何か。
人はそれぞれ違った関心や性質を持っています。度肝を抜かれるほどの変人や天才はほんの一握りだけれど、それでも誰もがそれなりにはユニークです。
大勢の人と社交するのが楽しい人がいれば、独りで黙々とこなすのが好きな人もいる。競争や勝負に燃える人がいれば、それらに興味のない人もいる。絵を描かずにはいられない人、気がつけば星空を見上げている人、なぜか魚類に深く心を寄せる人。
そのような、その人だからこそ持っているものを突き詰めたり、大いに発露している様をとても興味深く感じるのです。
たとえそのような生き方が、世間的に評価されず、まったく金銭的な価値を生み出さず、場合によっては呆れられたり白い眼で見られるものであったとしても。
なぜ登るのかという問いに「そこに山があるから」（正確には「そこにエベレストがあるから」であるようですが）と答えた登山家の話はあまりに有名ですが、内発的動機というのはまさにこれです。
私は登山どころかアウトドアに全く親しみがありませんが、彼が見事に言い表しているように「ただ、そうしたいからそうする」という生き方に心を打たれるのです。
もう一つ、偶然性とは何か。
人がそれぞれ違っているように、一人の人生の中で起こる出来事も様々です。何が起こるかを予測することはできません。
この時代に日本に生を享けたという出生の偶然性に始まり、実に様々な偶然性に晒されながら人生は進行していきます。そういう偶然性の一片に、人生全体を方向付けるものがあったりするものです。
重い病気に罹った自分や家族を治療してくれた人への感謝と畏敬の念から、医療の道を志すとか。ある芸術作品に衝撃を受けて、創作や研究活動にのめり込むとか。
もし、それに出遭っていなければそうはならなかったかもしれない、でもなぜかその出来事が起こって現にこうなっているという面白さ。似たような経験した人は他にもいるはずなのに、その人にとってはそれが決定的に働いて今があるという不思議さ。
偶然性そのものは何でも良いのですが、偶々起った出来事とか人や物との出会いによって人生が動かれていくというのが、また人生の妙味だと思うのです。
こうやって考えていくと、内発的動機も偶然性の一つと言って良いのかもしれません。
（なぜか分からないけれど、それをしたい。そういう性質に生まれた、あるいはそういう経験をしたという偶然性。）
「激レアさんを連れてきた。」という番組がありますが、そこに登場する人にはそのような面白さを感じることが多いです。（たまたま何度か見たことがある程度で、特に熱心に見ているわけではないですが）
そんなにレアではなく、経歴や属性だけ聞くと凡庸に思えても、内発的な動機に突き動かされて、そして不思議な縁に引っ張られて生きていれば、それはとても面白いものです。
なので、元増田の人生もつまらないものでは全くなく、とても面白いのかもしれません。普通の家庭を持ったサラリーマンとしての側面しか記述されていませんが、その仕事は（なんらかのきっかけで深い関心を寄せて）人生を捧げるようなライフワークとして取り組んでいるかもしれないし、あるいは賃労働とは別の社会貢献活動に情熱を注いだり、何らかの創作に精力を傾けているのかもしれません。
ただ、大多数のレールとしてある学歴を重ね、就職するものだからという常識で就職して、結婚した方がいいという観念で結婚して、子どもを産み育てるべきだという規範でそうする・・・そういう既定路線・予定調和的なものを逸脱するものを見出したいという思いがあります。
常識を逸脱するもの・普通を横溢するものを、（程度の差こそあれ本当は誰しも持っている・出遭っているはずなのに）無いことにした生き方を「つまらない」と思うのです。
そういうわけで、私は、ライフプランとか人生設計とかいう考え方が嫌いです。
何歳ごろに結婚して、何歳までに子供を何人産んで、それから家を建てて、教育費がこのくらいで、老後の生活費がこのくらいかかるから、貯金がこのくらい必要で・・・とか、そういうやつです。
（「一流のプレイヤーになる」とか「自分の店を持つ」とかの目標を持つことは良いと思いますが（持たなくても良いと思いますが）、それは志とか野心とか呼ぶべきもので所謂ライフプランとは別です）
中等教育くらいまではこの社会を生きていく前提としてレールの上を歩くということで良い（そうでなくても良い）と思いますが、そこから先は偶然性の織りなす世界で自分の心の赴くように生きるものだと思っています。
人生で何が起こるのかなど分からないし（極端に言えば明日死ぬかもしれない）、自分の考え方だって変わります。貯金とか保険とかある程度の備えは必要と思います（生き方によってはそれすら無くても良いけど）が、結局その場その時で決めていくしかないし、その方がきっと面白いはずです。
プランなど立てるのは偶然性を塗りつぶす所業であって、人生の醍醐味を毀損するものとしか思えないのです。
最後に「つまる」人生ということで、私が大好きな映画を紹介しておきます。
デヴィッド・フィンチャー監督の『ベンジャミン・バトン 数奇な人生』という映画です。
もちろんフィクションなのであまりにドラマチックなのですが、この作品には人が生きるということの面白さ（内発的動機と偶然性）が詰まっていると思うのです。
この映画の中で何度か主人公が口にするセリフ（それがこの作品のテーマでもあります）が、「人生、何が起こるかわからない（You never know what’s coming for you.）」です。

伏線を大量にバラ撒いていてプロローグとしては良い出来なんだけど偉い人が虐殺をしだした動機だけが納得いかず。
