外務省は、日本に駐在する外交使節団と国際組織に対し、以下の事項をお知らせする栄を得るものであります。
1.天皇の退位等に関する皇室典範特例法の施行期日を定める政令の施行により、天皇陛下が御退位され、翌５月１日に皇太子殿下が御即位されることになります。
2.2019年4月1日の閣議で、皇太子殿下が天皇陛下として即位される2019年5月1日から日本の新時代を「れいわ」と呼ぶことが決まりました。
外務省はこれを機会として、今後とも外交使節団と国際機関に深厚の敬意を表すものであります。
CIRCULAR
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs presents its compliments to the Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations in Japan and has the honour to inform them of the following:
1.Following the enforcement of the Special Measures Law on the Imperial House Law Concerning the Abdication of the Emperor and Other Matters on April 30, 2019, His Majesty the Emperor will abdicate on the same day and His Imperial Highness the Crown Prince will accede to the Throne on May 1, 2019.
2.It was decided at the Cabinet Meeting on April 1, 2019, that with the accession to the Throne of His Majesty the Emperor Naruhito, the new Japanese era be called "Reiwa" as from May 1, 2019.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations the assurances of its highest consideration.
