I have no idea about what you are talking about, but the sentence you put there did not make any sense to me. So please bear with me but read on.
As opposed to 'cannot advance' (it makes no sense.) use 'to make any progress.' Or you might have wanted to say,
Can't you change?
Get real.
etc. might sound more appropriate in the context that is to urge the arrested development cases to grow up and to cast their eyes on something more practical and realistic than the imaginary world as the excitment in TV animation.
