ここに

と書いてあるように頻度が1995年版からコーパスに基づき解るようになったのだが
どうもその時Longman Defining Vocabularyも改訂されたみたい。
The Oxford 3000 wordlistも同様にコーパスに基づき改訂して
LongmanとOxfordが似たものになってしまったもよう。
実際に最新版の

の差を調べると

に含まれている。また、 1988年のLongman Dictionary
http://www2.cmp.uea.ac.uk/~jrk/conlang.dir/LongmanVocab.html
が上記とほぼ同様の内容でありそこから推察するに

は最新第4版より前のDefining Vocabularyであり
にはまだ反応が遅れてるんだ！
