It's an amazing time to be able to casually write Masuda in English like this.

I can't read or write in English.

Of course, I am Japanese, so I can understand the level of English I learned at school.

But writing in English is a bit different from that, isn't it?

I am not a Japanese person, so I can understand what I learned in school, but that is a little different from writing in English.

What a wonderful world we live in!

Don't you think so?

financial times

Will the Bank of Japan raise rates above zero?

No. 2024 will be the year the Japanese central bank finally ditches yield curve control and negative interest rates. Contrary to market expectations of several further increases, however, rates will end the year no higher than zero.

With mediocre wage growth, a stronger yen in prospect as US rates peak and reasons to prefer a steeper yield curve, the BoJ is unlikely to set a positive rate — although as with any central bank forecast, much depends on the incoming data. Robin Harding

Just you don't know the phrase "for communication" often used in a narrow sense: "mutual communication with modern people".

There are many English books titled "German for communication", "French for communication", or "Japanese for communication" for English-native people learning foreign languages, and meant for such a kind of communication, not reading literature.

anond:20231227131050

You need to work on expressing what you want to say. It takes training. I speak Japanese too so I can somewhat guess what you want to say but if you talked to someone with no experience with non-native speakers, you make no sense at all, you could even freak them out. Let me do it for you.

論理がある、文章わかって意味がある

論理がない、文章解らない意味がない

文章からない、言葉習う意味全然ない

This is basically what you are saying. Got my point?

anond:20231227124852

"We cannot read dense literatures and complex theses when we learn English ONLY FOR COMMUNICATION" he said.

"Japanese stuffs are good as training for reading such a thing" he said

"We MUST learn Japanese stuffs if we read such a thing" he DIDN'T said

anond:20231227123431

Even if we do Japanese stuffs, we can communicate in English if we do BOTH Japanese stuffs and communication training.

Doing Japanese stuffs is not doing ONLY Japanese stuffs.

imho you should learn math and logic before English.

anond:20231227122444

You said you can't communicate if you do Japanese stuffs.

Wrong. Masuda didnt say that.

anond:20231227121112

You said you can't communicate if you do Japanese stuffs. And you just proved it. Good for you. It's rather strange to learn a language for anything other than communication but do whatever you want to do I guess. I never said you shouldn't.

Kinda odd you said SO is '公式の焼き直し'. You rarely see questions/answers that could be answered by the official documents on SO, in English anyways. That usually happens when you search in Japanese. As you worked for one of GAFA in the states, I believe you are proficient in English. I don't know anybody who searches in Japanese except for special occasion like Japanese specific law or something when it comes to programming. I'm not convinced you were a SWE at GAFA. I'd be happy to be proved wrong though. Go ahead.

But well, Germany's evaluation has also fallen to the ground.

looking at the Japanese's evaluation of Germany's actions in the Palestinian-Israeli war, there is no trace of what it used to be.

It seems like a distant past that told me to learn from Germany.

The worst is dogmatic behavior like "for the time being, defending Jews leads to reflection on the past"

It's dangerous that the left is surprised by the fact as it is the behavior that Japanese Netoyo has failed to Germany.

Tweets like "German universities support 90% of Israel" are also buzzing.

Don't act in a way that makes Netoyo convincing. Germany.

Notice

■ Regarding the free release of the new species previewed and the reason for making the support site the main platform for releasing new species:

While the free release on the Kurobinega website is at my discretion, I'm considering doing so roughly once every three or two paid releases.

The following might not be particularly relevant to English-speaking fans, or in other words, to everyone. The reason I'm focusing on early releases is that I want to limit the exposure of MGE and continue creating content on a smaller scale. First of all, I don't want MGE to be a hugely popular restaurant that anyone can enter, nor do I wish to become an internet celebrity. For me, MGE is akin to a reasonably popular local restaurant where like-minded individuals who share my interests gather. By scaling down, my production speed has increased. The period from Dragonewt to Tai Sui was shorter, and the next species should be released sooner. What matters most to me is creating the MGE I want to craft, drawing pictures, and developing games in the world of MGE. I'm delighted when people who value MGE's themes as I do get to see it. Receiving money on support sites like these, allowing me to spend more time on production, is truly appreciated.

Using the stuffed animal analogy again, it truly makes me happy when someone who genuinely loves and cherishes stuffed animals sees the ones I've created. Yet, I can't see those who say they adore stuffed animals but also tolerate and respect those who take pleasure in mutilating them as people who share the same love for stuffed animals as I do. I don't have the inclination to actively show them the stuffed animals I've made.

I believe English-speaking individuals, when witnessing a stuffed animal's head being torn off or the pleasure derived from it, would straightforwardly label it as "crazy." However, it's different in Japan, especially on social media. Even if they dislike watching the stuffed animals being hurt, they'll say, "Let's respect those who enjoy tearing them." This, despite seeing me, someone desperately protecting my stuffed animals, getting attacked by such individuals. There's a prevailing notion in the otaku community, especially on Japanese SNS (Social Media), that "All fetishes must be respected." Speaking out against this, even as a victim, can result in backlash. Not everyone thinks this way, but it's the dominant mindset. Disheartened by this, I didn't want to show them MGE anymore. When you grow to dislike a place, it's only natural to distance yourself, and that's what I've done.

However, this is a problem in Japan. In English-speaking regions, fans typically call out what they dislike, labeling it as "crazy." I have many English-speaking friends who've genuinely helped me in trying times. The MGEwiki admin is also a dear friend. Depending on the English-speaking fan community's dynamics, I might consider releasing content on MGEwiki a month after the early release.
