例えば、護衛艦のレーダーは「OPS-14」、ソナーは「OQQ-21」とかなので、やはり「O」で始まっている。
海上自衛隊の電子機器の型番はアメリカ軍の軍用電子機器の命名規則におおむね基づいているが、一文字目のみは米軍式では「S」がつけられるべきところを、「お船」（Ofune）ないし「艦載用」（On Board）を捩った「O」とされている。
「お」を付けていいんだったら、船じゃなくてもいいじゃん。
なんなら、「おにぎり」の頭文字で「O」しにてもいいじゃんって思った。
On Boardにしたってそう。
「On ○○」の形にすれば、やっぱり船でなくてもいい。on trainとかでもいい。
接頭語や前置詞を基にして「O」の発祥とする理由付けは、護衛艦でなくても当てはまるのだし、なんか残念に思う。

長年悩んでたみたいで言うのが躊躇われるけどそのA trainは単にジャズナンバーのtake the A trainをリファーしてるのでは？

を見ていたら「エイデイ」にものすごい驚いて「日本のスラングは事前に勉強してたんだけど…エイデイときたか！」みたいな反応をしている。

しかし 2 に関しては "everyday abbr" とか "everyday abbr urban dictionary" とかで検索しても何も出てこない。
3 の errday に関しては表記法が変わるだけで発音は everyday と変わらないらしい link
あともし字面どおり読んだとしても「エァーデイ」に近い発音になる（definitions.net）。
syudou 氏のtwitterも検索してみたが特にエイデイには言及していなかった。
それで eiday eidei あたりを手当たりしだいに検索していると "A-Day" というワードに出会う。
これは空軍の導入日だったり、歴史的な文脈ではビキニ環礁での核実験を透過した日のことらしい（1946/7/1)
ところでエリントンの曲やジミヘンの曲に出てくる A train は「ア・トレイン」ではなく「エイ・トレイン」と発音されている。
この A は一体何なんだろうなと昔から思っていた。冠詞ではない。ネイティブのオーラルイングリッシュが変化していていっていて、
冠詞の a を「エイ」と発音するようになっていたのだとしても歌詞全体として「ある列車」では意味が通らないのだ。
エリントンの方は歌詞を覚えていないがジミヘンの方は「here my A train is coming.」だし（覚え間違いで「here my train A comin'」だった）。
大文字のAを「エイ」と読むことによって「例の」という意味とする感覚があるのではないかと思う。
再び『うっせぇわ』に戻る。
「あてもなくただ混乱する」という事態が起きているのが複数の日（何らかの形で everyday に帰着する説）なのか「例の日」なのかでどっちか変わる。
しかし前後の歌詞を見るに「その日」を特定する情報はなく、この歌詞の語り手にとって普遍的なことのように思われる。
ここまで調べたがもうわからないので考えるのをやめることにした。

トラバにある通り urban dictionary の範囲で "everyday の省略としての a day"がある模様（トップしか見てなかった）。
