日本にいる日本人が書いた記事を日本メディアが海外ニュースとして報道するマッチポンプ感についてはひろゆきが触れていたが、それに加えてNew York Timesの元の記事自体も結構ひどい。

「自決」という強いワードを使ったのは成田本人にしても、元々の「既得権益層にいる強者老人が自主的に引退していく風潮を作ろう」という文脈から単なる高齢化社会にテーマをずらして「既得権益層」「自主的」といったキーワードをオミットした上に、

Seppukuの解説に"ritual disembowelment that was a code among dishonored samurai(落ちぶれた侍がやる儀式)"と「弱者」の文脈を勝手に付け加えることで

「役に立たない老人はさっさと殺して世代交代しましょーよ」みたいな激ヤバ差別主義者に仕立て上げられている。

しかも件の発言含めてこれまで日本国内で炎上らしい炎上はまだしていなかったはずなのだが、なぜか日本で既に炎上したことになっており国内の有識者からの批判意見がズラズラと並べ立てられている。

よく見ると上記のような文脈で批判されているのでどれも芯を食っていないんだが、批判批判批判！！たまに擁護する人もいるよ…あと批判批判批判批判！！って感じなんでまあ印象が悪い。

というか「海外で炎上してるぞ！」で炎上してるニュースの元ネタが「日本で炎上してるぞ！」って完全にマッチポンプで草なんだが。

炎上するように文脈を切り貼りする＆炎上をネタに炎上させてPV稼ぐって、タブロイド通り越して5chまとめサイトのやり口と同じだけどNew York Times ブランドとしてどうなんスか？

■「大怪獣のあとしまつ」の反響について思うこと

※読む前に:

本文は「大怪獣のあとしまつ」の感想ではなく、この作品の【反響】について思うこと、であり、作品のネタバレには触れません。観に行ってないし。また、本文はあくまで「この騒がれ方おかしくない？」と書いてるだけなので、見る人にとっては（特に特撮的な目線で批判的な印象を抱いた人には）悪印象を受けるであろうことが予想されます。読まない方が精神衛生上凄くいいです。

　以下、本文。

　まず、俺はこの映画をまだ見ていない。

　それなのに筆を取ったのは、「令和のデビルマン」だの「パシフィックリムとシンゴジラがあえてやらなかったことの煮凝り」だのと散々なことを言われているから。

　この上記の二文に関して、まず俺は思った。

「……いや、そう言う映画でしょ？」と

　順を追って説明したい。

　この作品、個人的には楽しみにしていて、というのも特報の段階で

「うわ〜！邦画臭っせ〜！こりゃB級だ！」

「絶対恋人を失った主人公が雨の中『ゴジラァアアアアアア！』って叫びそ〜！」

「クソつまんないギャグ挟みそう〜！」

「アイドルあたりが主演やりそう〜！」

　というのを感じていたから。俺はこう言うありがちにまみれた【ザ・邦画】な映画が好きで、むしろ嬉々としてよく見に行く方だ。

　この作品はその中でも「シンゴジラのパロディ」という印象を強く受けた。怪獣のデザイン、特報やPV からも意識しているのは伝わった。それでいて、「倒すのよりむずくね？」「この死体、どうする？」と、ちょっと軽めに茶化したコピーから、「ああなるほど、あくまでパロディであって、肩の力を抜いてみるタイプなんだね？」とも。

　だからこそ、シンゴジラやパシリムと比較したり特撮がどうたらこうたらって視点で批判してるのがちょっとズレてない？と思っている。

　タイトルだけならまだいいが、ポスターで思いっきりジャニーズが全面にプッシュされていて、怪獣はマヌケな倒れ方をしていて、キャッチコピーは「この死体、どうする？」「倒すのよりむずくね？」、予告では既視感強めなシーンに元号発表のパロディや偉そうな人たちによる「怪獣って生ゴミ？」などというあっさ〜い会話、ありがちすぎて既視感凄まじいヒロインの叫びとダッシュ。

　これ見て「よっしゃ！シンゴジラやパシリムと肩を並べる特撮映画が出たぞ！」って手ぐすね引いて見に行く人、本当にいるの！？

　事前に出された情報をどこからどう見たってB級の邦画じゃん！

　ザ・大衆迎合映画じゃん！

　これ作ったの庵野秀明か？ギレルモデルトロか！？あるいはそれくらいビッグな監督か！？

　三木聡だぞ！？！？！？！？！？！？

　とはいえまあ、タイトルとあらすじだけ見て見に行く人もいるかもしれないし、PV からでもネタバレされたくなくて情報をシャットアウトしてる人もいるかもね。現にそうやって見に行って「予想と違った」って言ってる人も見かけました。たしかにパッと見は真面目な内容に見えるかもしれないし、だったらこの反応も頷けますね……。

　……いや、それに関しては見てないあるいはあえて見ない方が全面的に悪いだろ。

　製作者側は「こんな映画ですよ！」ってちゃんと出し惜しみもせずに言ってるのにそれを消費者側の都合で見ずに鑑賞して「予想と違った！」ってとんでもないこと言うじゃん。ヤバ。スーパークレーマーか？

　これが例えば、「大真面目に大怪獣の後始末について考察した上でキャラクターがおふざけなしで頑張るシリアスな内容」と見えるような予告を発表して、いざ封切りとなって「実はおちゃらけ映画でした〜」って感じで嘘をついていたなら激怒もわかるけど、この作品はそうとは思えないし。

　うーん、なんだろう。

　この映画を特撮の真剣度をメインとして見に行ってその視点で低評価してるの、入り口の脇にアメリカ国旗ののぼりが立ってて「ジャパニーズフードレストラン〜SAMURAI〜」って看板掲げてるレストランに行って寿司注文したらカルフォルニアロール出されて「こんなの寿司じゃない！いいか？寿司ってのはな〜」ってキレてるみたいで見てて痛々しいんだけど。

　ちゃんとよく見ろよ店員全員アメリカ人なんだから大したもの出てくるわけないだろみたいな。（あくまで例えであって外国人寿司職人を貶している訳ではありません）

　まとめると、「この作品はシンゴジラを期待して見に行くと肩透かしを喰らう」という感想に対して、「あったりまえじゃん！！！！何言ってんの！？正気か！？！？」と思ったなあ、ということです。

　これくらいが俺が今回の反響を見て抱いた所感です。

　とはいえ、まあ、その……。

　それはそれとしてこの映画単純にクソつまんなそうだな〜！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！

　見に行くけど！

　でもな〜、これがネタにできるクソならまだしも、たまに「これ二時間ドラマでいいよね？」って言いたくなるようなやつもあるからな〜。それだったらやだな。

　エンタメって枠組みで作られてるからある程度は信用できるけど。

　雨の中叫ぶ山田涼介、見てえ〜！

　見に行った後友達と「あそこマジありがちなシーンだよね」って笑いてえ〜！なんならそのシーンのモノマネしてやっぱり笑いてえ〜！

　「あそこで寝るかと思った」「俺は寝た」ってやりてえ〜！

　「でもあのシーンはよかった」「いや俺はそこもどうかと思った」って話しあいてえ〜！

　そんでもって来年の今頃には全て忘れてたまにツタヤのレンタルの棚の端っこにあるのを見つけて「あったな〜、忘れたけど」って思いてえ〜！！！！

　以上でーーーーす！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！

【余談】

　この作品だけじゃないけど、何でもかんでも邦画でつまらないと思った作品を取り上げて「令和のデビルマン」って言う人、普通に気持ち悪いし実際にデビルマン見たことなさそう。

　見た上で言ってたとしても、「今後なんかの作品見た時『令和のデビルマンだ！』って言いたいから」って理由で見てそう。

　バズってるツイートにぶら下がってる画像リプに「その画像もらっていいですか？」ってコラをリプしてそうだし、クソリプに対しては「ここだけの話お前クソリプ送ってるぞ」ってポプテピの画像貼ってそう。

　1036フォロー、81フォロワーっぽそう。

　それからしばらくは「令和のデビルマンだ〜」「この映画は令和のデビルマンだぜ〜」って上手いこと言ってやったぜとでもいいたげに何度も言ってそう。
